Do you have any modifications to your h23? My time/trap speed was just slightly faster than yours, but when I raced a 93 prelude h23 I had about 5 car lenghs on him (this was many years ago when I did street race)
ran the 15.4 with a badly slipping stock clutch this past summer. middle of august in about 23 degree weather. the clutch was 10 years old and had 115,000 miles on it = probably around 170kms or so. i have a blitz filtered CAI and cat-back 2.25 exhaust. new plugs and wires new radiator new hydraulic slave cylinder for the clutch. I stripped about 120 lbs out of the car for the track that day and i was only running on 91 octane and very bad tires. I launched it for a 60' of 2.212 and even that was not a very good one.

I have just installed a stage 2 bully clutch and lightened the flywheel. on 94 octane and my new tires i expect about a 15.1 or so. with nitrous i'm looking at 14.5-14.8 on a 55shot when i pick up a zex kit in the spring.

if you beat my car by 5 lengths he probably started out in reverse the H23 stock is 160hp and 156 torque and the car weighs anywhere between 2700 and 2900 depending on driver and tank of gas and interior. stock it runs 15.7 i am probably up around 175hp now or so.

i dont know if you know there is a prelude base model that is a SOHC non-vtec only 130hp. it sounds to me like you raced him instead.

I also find that prelude drivers in my car have really wierd concepts of where to shift. Some guys think they should go to 7 grand (redline is 6600) and keep it as high as possible the whole time. the h23 torque peak is only 4500. i shift at about 5800-6000. when i race preludes going to redline i usually spank them by about 2-3 lengths.

EDIT: i just realized i sound kind of cocky there. thats not my intention, i'm usually the last guy to get in a hypothetical racing discussion. just trying to present different views of maybe why you killed him if it was an H23.
