its the test you take to get your full licence, heres how the tests go:

1st step: you turn 16 and take a written test to get your G1 which is your beginners licence and you are only allowed to drive with someone in the passenger seat that has at least 4 years driving experience with a full G licence, and you aren't allowed to have any alcohol in your system.

2nd step: after 12 months of having your G1 or 8 months if you take driver training you are able to take a driving test to get your G2 which is basically a full licence except that you can't have any alcohol in your system and insurance sucks if you are primary driver.

last step: after 12 months of having your G2 you can take another driving test and get your full G licence.
