Well on my way to work today I got nailed with a yellow (amber) light ticket. I’m 100% at fault and I am not arguing that cop is wrong so please NO FLAMERS giving me more stress than I already am under.

I got 180.00 and 3 points.

I have a speeding ticket last year for 0 points. I didn’t go to court because no point and it was only $50.00. The cop reduced from 25 over limit to 15 and 3 points to 0 points. My insurance renewed and my insurance didn’t go up but went down $400.00 per year.

Now I’m not paying this ticket like the last one. He didn’t’ cut my any favors or reduce the points OR the FINE this time. I asked him wtf I can do about reducing the cost of ticket as I’m a university student on co op work term and have 5000 dollars tuition in January. He said you ran a yellow you have to pay 180.00 bucks and that’s all there is to it. And then he mentioned the 3 options which I know about.

Now I know my last ticket the cop reduced the fine on the spot so I was like whatever I’m late for work and didn’t argue at all about how to reduce it. I did the limit the entire way to work and ended up being late, but my boss didn’t mind as I told them why I was late.

I get into work today and look at the ticket. I looked at the liscene plate the cop wrote on ticket and third letter/number looked odd.. The third letter/number on my plate for real is a B. I looked at the ticket and it appears to be anything BUT a B. I gave the ticket to 3-4 co coworkers. They all said ya that’s a S or 5 or a 3 no way in hell is it a B. But me any my shitty luck can read it as a B or a 3 more of a 3 then a B.
I’m afraid if I go to court they will say I’m wrong and that’s a B and I’m going to get raped.

Now everyone at work is telling me to calm down and it will get thrown out because they saying only if your blind can you read that as not being anything but a B.

Now my luck in life is not so good. What are the chances that he the cop has it written properly on his copy of the ticket? But on mine that letter does not look like a B at all but an S or a 5 or a 3.

Please help. I don’t want to get raped by this ticket with insurance premiums let alone the beating from my parents. I’m really afraid to tell them as I never said anything about my speeding one last year.

Should I just go to court since I have nothing to loose as I wasn’t cut any favors today as in no reductions?

Another question. Anyone have any idea how much my insurance would fly with this ticket? I’m 20 years old with G license for 2 years.
