Option 3 is the one that says to set a court date. And i have to choose this option by going in PERSON = me missing 2 hrs of work because they open later then I start and it will take me about 45 minutes to get to work.
I can sacrifice 2 hours not a problem.
DO NOT choose option 2. This basically means you're admitting guilt. When you admit guilt, why would the Crown offer anything else?

Option 3 is the way to go. This is the two step process I described above. During the initial meeting with the crown attorney you can ask if he is willing to alter the charge to something different which carries a lighter penalty (improper lane change). I have never experienced them being stuck on the charge and not budge on either charge or the payment amount. He may stick with the charge as presented but ask you to pay a lower fine. If you accept, the court can still (and probably will) give you a longer time to pay (remember to ask).
