^^ the driving over the detector is a major myth. The cops seize the detector in order to use it as evidence against you. When they pull you over they have suspicion of a "radar warning" device present so he'll come up and ask for it. Legally he can search the car but not you or your passengers. Also very few cruisers actually have the spectre detecting devices because they're quite expensive. Its usually OPP cruisers that are equipped with it.
