Just watch this forum Paul...I have posted a bunch of these events already. I'm hoping to get out again in the middle of June when I have the time to.
Its very hard to explain, but if you want to talk about an adrenaline rush...no car on the 1/4 mile can give you one as much as doing this, even if your car is only 100 hp. Tires squeeling, car sliding, brakes locking up, missing the apex and almost ending up in a tire wall or spinning across the grass...yeeee haw!!!
If anyone wants to go but is very scared or timid about it, their more then welcome to come when I'm going and I can take them out in my car to
show them the ropes. I'm not close to being the best driver out there, but I can at least give you a feel for what it's like and what to expect. Then you can take your car out there too.
The main thing about these events are the people and their attitudes. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming. They don't expect everyone to drive like Schumacher and you shouldn't drive like that either, it's not a race. In fact, a little story about this weekend. It was our 2nd or 3rd session out there and I was being slowed down by two cars infront of me - I was being cautious and trying to give them their space until a straight away where they could wave me by - and this EVO was behind me. Well, the whole time we're behind the traffic the EVO is right up my ass. I couldn't even see his whole car in my rearview mirror....I wasn't too pleased with this. So after that session I was a little irritated by him. Right away though he comes up and apologizes...we start talking about our cars and it turns out he's a really nice guy. He was up from Buffalo. Just bought the EVO 5 days ago. It was fucking fast and he was a good driver...I couldn't come close to keeping up to him. But I will say he did have track tires on compared to my street Falkens.
