^^ you do need a helmet for solo2. I know WOSCA had some loaners when I used to go I'm not sure if this club does. If anyone wants my (slightly beat up) shark helmet pm me.

as far as safety, in solo2 the helmet is for looks only probably to satisfy insurance requirements rather than a real safety requirement.
Like Kace said, a lot of people drive close to this on the street all without wearing helmets
Bring some masking tape to cover your plates (or remove them) and an air compressor to pump up your tires over spec.
For a low price this is a sure way to have some legal fun with your car.
(the mothers day thing does suck though)
