how about you tell me why you think its such a bad idea? is it because they are spending 200 000 of tax payers dollars to better the response services.. i'm sure if you knew where all of your tax money was spent you wouldn't be worried about waterloo regional getting blackberries
Waterloo region is just a " test " imagine replacing pagers with blackberries. such as in communities that only rely on volunteer firefighters/police workers. my boss is a volunteer fire fighter and i have no idea how many times he hasnt been able to hear his pager at work due to the volume now if it were a blackberry an exact address and summary could be sent right to him
foot patrol could look up criminal records on the spot and be tracked by GPS during on foot chases instead of 10 police cars chasing after them they could potentially be one step ahead they could have everything that an in car patrol officer has at their disposal.
how about it if it works out it could also be used so paramedics could access peoples medical history while in the field? you know little timmy that needs antibiotics but is allergic to 75% of the ones out there.. but hey this is just what i think and i'm an idiot
