Great! but what are/do u lok for in an idea performance shop?
Well, my buddies shop aside, I'd look for a shop that specializes in performance. Since I'm serious about performanc mods on my car, I will not take my car to a shop that does vinyl graphics, installs body kits, sells stereo equipment etc. I would want to take my car to a shop that has a reputation for producing some serious power from their cars. Since producing serious power is my main goal. This is what I look for. So things like dealing in only top quality parts companies (no crap like APC, Ractive etc.), secondly the mechanics must be top trained people who have experience in makeing power. A dyno does not need to be there as a tuner and a mechanic are 2 different people. As for tuning ems's etc. I would go to a pure tuner. For instance, my tuner doesn't really know much about modifying cars, installing performance mods etc. He is an ems tuner, and his experience lies with dyno tuning purely. So I have seperate mechanics, tuners, and auto body specialists that I will take my car too.
