Guys.....
I have too many toys.
One of my winter beaters is up for grabs due to a lack of parking space.

1981 Jetta 4 door
very little rust for the age
runs and drives
I swapped in an 87 Scirocco 1.8L about 1 year ago
~140k on the motor
~320k on the body

Looking for $500 for the whole car or willing to part it out if there's interest.

Car is located in Cambridge.

questions:
$500 for the car as is or certified, and if not certified, what does it need to get a safety/emissions, etc

and will it last me through a winter if its stored this summer?

Car is sold as is.
You do not need emissions.
It needs some work or at least some checking up for a safety.

For sure it need the exhaust patched up!

Brakes should be looked at since I haven't driven it on a daily basis in a while.

The shifter linkage needs some bushings replaced (or maybe something else)

I personally love this car, and I hate to get rid of it. If I only had more space to keep my shit.

I've had it since 1999 and used it daily in the winters. Never been stranded or anything.
