I can not understand why anyone would want to waste so much time and money into putting garbage into garbage?
Honestly.. it makes no sense. ------------------ Weather in Kitchener: ![]() (And when updated) |

^^ That engine is hardly garbage, but I agree that this swap should never have been done.

I can't see it being justifiable to put in an engine that is intended for a fairly heavy FWD vehicle into a very light vehicle. Once you add up the total time spent on the project plus costs.. you would be better off swapping a buit B18 into the thing and produce high HP numbers with low torque.. exactly what these light hondas need. If you showed me a S2000 swap into a 240 or a Supra Swap into a 240 or whatever outragous RWD combination you can think of and I would consider it an achievement. Name the good a SRT4 motor has the second you have to pay to buy the swap? Potential? Has the same potential other built motors have... Factory Warranty? Thats the reason why people love these motors.. stage 2 and you still have factory warranty.. not on a swap.. Seriously, I would fine it embarrassing to own a vehicle that is not a chrysler that has a chrysler swap in it (Except an old school hemi). ------------------ Weather in Kitchener: ![]() (And when updated) |

Ya, garbage into garbage.. just like when you are throwing endless amounts of money into your garbage focus... in the long run, its still a $5000 focus.. that will never get past 15 seconds in the 1/4, and will never outhandle a civic...
Please.. by no means should you get offended by the vehicle you drive.. if your going to say that its "all that you can afford".. because if that were true.. you wouldnt be wasting stupid money on stupid mods. ------------------ Weather in Kitchener: ![]() (And when updated) |

when there's stock bottom ended gsr motors with arp head studs and a better head gasket making 600whp with some top end work and a big turbo...how could one ever justify a swap like this?

I think the point of the swap was to do it just to do it. To be the only one with it. These are the same people with the 2JZ S2000s. Its just showing what they are able to do. I dont think its for money or for fame or whatever, and I dont think that the modifications necessary would of cost much money. I assume other than custom mounts no more than $1000 would of been spent doing this motor swap.
Its not like the guy with the Civette or the 355 swapped Sunny. CRX Forum ------------------ Honda CR-X If you need it I can get it. |

but using a powertrain that's potential is far less then what is out there is not impressing me at all...especially with the hassle it must've taken to get it in there ------------------ 93 Civic hatchback, ITR powered, boltons 185whp with a new 1/4 mile time coming very soon. As for high hp/low torque, how is that what a honda *needs*?? With SHORT gearing, yes you need high revving high hp.. But with longer gearing(like the SRT4 tranny has stock), low down torque is just as good. For a daily driver, torque is what you want. Even for racing, with gearing matched to the powerband it doesn't matter where the engine makes power. As for warranty, etc.. Regardless of that, its still a solid engine that makes very good power stock, with lots of potential. Mid 11's in an SRT4 with a bigger turbo and tuning sounds like A LOT of fun in a lighter car. As for stock bottom end GSR's making 600whp, I bet they spent more on headwork and tuning than this swap cost them. ------------------ Roses are #FF0000 Violets are #0000FF All my base are belong to you. |
