I have heard nothing but horror stories about these things
there loose, and can be unstable...............there look really good though, but wouldn't recommend for a daily driver
V6Z24.com has had a how-to about these for years............

but is it done with hinges and stuff like the one on the DIY is? that looks ghetto the way they did it....unless thats the way you are supposed to?

all it looks like is hinges from a fence gate, like i have in my back yard. they just screw/bolt it up onto the stock brackets an add that latch so at any given time you could use it normal.

Yup, it is a ghetto mod...thats why alot of cars do it!
On the sunfire though, we really over enginereed it...lol
