Polishing Intake Manifold!!! HELP!!

I have this right now:

And i'm trying to turn it into this:

With the proper tools this guy did it in 6 hours.

Quote:
i used a orbital sander with 80, 120, 320, 800,1000 grit paper then wet snaded it with 2000 then used a buffer and some rubbing compound and then used some billet polish and thats it
it took me a good 5 to 6 hours on it it takes a long time to get the spots out but in the end it looks so much better

Your basic tools: Electric Drill ( Nothing Fancy)
80, 120, 180, 220, 320,400 grit Wet/Dry Sandpaper
(2) 6" Spiral Sewn Buffing Wheels
Tripoli Compound
White Rouge
These parts can be found at Home Depot, Sears, and some major Auto Chains
I was going to have mine ceramic coated with the same look coating, but they said it won't be as smooth or as shiny.

Does anyone have experiance at doing this kind of stuff ??

I sanded mine by hand... it looks 100 times better then before but there's no 'performance shine' to it

lots of sanding........start with 380, then 600, then 1500..........it'll be a mirror
the first grit is gunna take the longest, because you have to remove all the rough stuff so it's smooth.

Make sure you get everything.......or you will see as the grits go up
