Painting or Tinting Taillights

Anyone have any experience either tinting or painting the lens cover for taillights???

cause it would be MUCH cheaper for me to buy altezza's and then tint them or paint the lens red instead of buying them all red. Unless someone else knows where i can get them all red and not from the states

any help would be much appreciated

my tails are painted all red... done by my ex with a cheapie spray gun, so it could be done by just about anyone. no runs or anything.

its been all winter and no wear and tear whatsoever either... they look mint, im really happy with them.

basically, we got a can of clear with a bit of red added. automotive paint obviously

on my previous car.......I painted the headlights and the tail lights myself.

I used Krylon plastic paint. It is a type of spray paint, It goes on Shiny and glossy so it looks good. You can get all different colours from Canadian tire.

Take a look below at my old car, just mask off the part you want painted a spray away.

this is something i was thinking of doing to my 240, buying cheap ebay clear lights, resealing them since they're all shitty and leak, then painting them a dark red but leave the reverse lights clear.

if it turns out horrible then you have stock tail lights to put back in and you can sell them to some ricer and probably get most of your money back.

Red metalcast paint from Canadian tire will nicely tint an orange section red.. Just tape off the rest, get them REALLY close to the original red sections, then pull the tape off and give it another coat over all the red areas to make it match even more.

The paint is translucent, so you don't have to worry about making the lights opaque unless you put on WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too much.
