HID help -- not firing up properly..

I went to get an engine shampoo done, and it turned out awesome. However, now my passenger side HID bulb is not firing up.

Drivers side works fine.. we pulled the bulbs out, tried them both in the drivers side ballast, they work fine.. Tried them in the passenger side, bulb fires up after some ON OFF ON OFF with headlight switch. We wiggled wires around, doesn't do anything.. put the bulbs back, the passenger side SOMETIMES fires up after some ON OFF ON OFF with lights.. so that's at least an improvement.. but still, I can't figure out the problem.

We measured voltage at the hardness -> ballast plug, and it's fine.. bulbs are obviously fine sine they fire up.. what could it be?

When I turn it on, you can see it really dim trying to fire, so I turn it off, try it again, and it fires up properly sometimes.. so to me it seems like ballast is not firing properly?

the only problem i can think of is the fuse. push it in harder sometimes they come apart andthe fuse just bounces around and it will cause your hids to flicker and turn off sometimes wen going over bumps and shit

mine did that too but it turned out to be a bad ballast

check for water in plugs and did you upgrade your fuses?

two things come to mind

1) water in a connector - pull them all apart then blow them out with pressurize air or something

2) bad ground. - i'd bet on this one myself.

It appears to be the ballast.. took a multimeter to it and it sometimes fires, sometimes doesn't.. new ballast is on the way

I have the same problem and I have a new bulb on order, I left the ballasts mounted where they were and switched the bulb from side to side, whereever the one bulb went is the side that would only turn on with several on/offs of the switch. So the same bulb would act the same with different ballast...so I took that as a flaw in the bulb, even though it will ignite sometimes....seems to take more juice sometimes.....

Nick,
I dropped the car off at 9am @ CanCare, then got a ride home with my buddy.. so that was me most likely yeah.. sorry I missed ya.

I just emailed the guy and I got a new ballast on the way, updated version of it to match my other side now (the drivers side went crap on me a few months ago). These ones are way better now, so that's good. Still under warranty for a while.
