Imtech Sport Tuning.....(Guelph, Ontario) ---PLEASE READ !!

Guys,

A few of you have heard this hard luck story already on other boards. I am just posting it everywhere within the sport compact community.....Please Read.....VERY IMPORTANT....

So anways,

Here is the full story guys.

I took my fairly stock 1997 Honda Civic Si with automatic transmission into Imtech Sport Tuning on October 4th 2003 around 1900hrs. He was supposed to do a B16A and a standard tranny swap for me.

The owner Bob Myers told me that he needed the cash upfront. I figured there was no harm in that since his shop looked nice, he had preformance parts hanging up for display etc etc..... So I gave him $4200.00 via Interac.

Bob Myers told me that the car would be completed on October 9th 2003. So October 9th 2003 came and I called Imtech several times that day and there was no answer and of course I didn't have a car so I couldn't check up on the shop.

On October 11th 2003 I was forced into renting a car. I went by the shop and my car was sitting on the hoist and no one was there. I had the rental for a full week which cost me $381.75.

On October 15th 2003 I called him and left a nasty phone message stating that I wanted my money and car back.

I also had a member from the Guelph Police Service call him and home. He called me back in like 20minutes. He proceeded to tell me that his supplier (lucky star in toronto) didn't have any 2nd Gen JDM B16's. He also told me that the original engine was no longer in the car and that it would be two weeks at most for the engine.

So calling once and a while worrying about my car here comes November 10th 2003. I get a call from Bob Myers stating that the engine is in the shop and that my car should be ready in a few days. I say great.

I call him in a few days and he tells me that Lucky Star had given him the wrong engine mounts. The mounts that came with the new engine were for a 5th generation Civic not a 6th Generation. So another week goes by were Bob Myers is apparently bickering with Lucky Star over the mounts. I snap and say enough, just buy new ones from Honda and work out your issues with lucky star later. He does that.

He finally mounts the engine in the car after four more days I then give him until today. I attended the shop and found my car still not ready.

The engine was in, the auto to standard looked finished except for filling in the auto shifter hole. The raditor was mounts etc.....everything but the wiring was completed..... It looked like fucking spagehetti in there.

So I snapped again, He told me Friday, Friday, Friday..........I told him fine.

So I returned the rental and got home.... I was then looking on the net and for whatever reason I snapped and called Joe at Altech. He advised me to get my car outta there. So I did. Joe stated that he would help me out with my car.

I contacted Imtech Sport Tuning to see if the mighty Bob Myers was in and of course like always he wasn't there, but his ever dependable front desk guy was......... At this point I knew that Bob Myers had no intention of having my car ready on Friday at all.

I contacted CAA and had my car towed out of there today as of 1315hrs it was En route to Altech. It is now 1450hrs and I just got a call from Altech. My car arrived there safe and sound.

Now, now I am just awaiting the verdict, was all the work Bob Myers done shite or not....... They will be calling me soon,..........

Here's hoping Bob Myers and Imtech Sport Tuning arn't complete fuck ups..... Sorry about the swearing but, well there isn't really anyother words to discribed this ordeal. I just hope that none of you out there have to go through this horseshit....EVER.......

Keeping in mind that the car in question is my daily driver and I don't have second car....... It has been a stressful couple of months...............

Thanks for listening and if you feel like getting shitty work done or getting the run a' round for 2 months or maybe even more if you are luckey, you might want to give the following shop a call:

Imtech Sport Tuning.
695 Woodlawn Rd, West
Guelph, Ontario
1-519-767-9959
ask for Bob Myers

Please feel free to post this on other forums. I just don't want this guy to burn anyone else..........He doesn't even deserve to change oil on cars after this one......

You should write a letter to the record it will get published and if its a big enough story (in their eyes) they will publish it and a lot of other people will get to read this as well.

Just a suggestion

Already done. I didn't get anywhere with them because they are not agressive. They are a passive organization. They added a complaint against him. That's all they could offer. He refused to call them back apparently.

Yeah it's behind a coin wash on Woodlawn Ave. It's in the same plaza as discount car and truck rental.
