Thoughts on 350z's?

I'm looking at picking up a used 350 this summer to replace my Grand Prix.

Just looking to see what you guys have heard about them good or bad.

It'll definately be a 6spd, prolly just the performance package (no brembo's) with leather and the usual features.

Thanks

jason

I've heard, like the RX-8, they are fun cars. I was just thinking the other day about taking one for a test drive. It was one of the cars I was thinking about before getting the S.

Pricewise, one that's a couple years old can be picked up for a good value...mind u, it's not good if u already owned the car.

i've taken an 03 out for a test drive and it was very nice. sounds mean as hell even with the factory exhuast, rides on rails and seems to be pretty quick (read: salesman was in the car with me)

meh i've taken them out and was not impressed. with no sales guy lol. as i work at nissan. im more of a 300zx guy and feel the 350 was a piss pour job of replacing the z. also when there sports sedan (Altima SER) kicks its ass it gets to the point its very hard to look at the Z.

hey but alot of people like them. this is only my opinion.
check the history of the car and also make sure all there recalls are done. as the gas lines break

they are amazing cars, especially with a little bit of forced induction, i drove a couple of them one with a Procharger on it and the other was just factory motor, great handling and excellent responce, my only beef is the back window is hard to see out of.

If the salesman doesn't want you to push a car like that, then he ain't a good salesman lol

I tested a 02 ss camaro, and the salesman was trying to edge me on and blow a civic away lol. What a funny guy.

I think the 350z looks hot, haven't driven one so cant comment on em sorry.

the sales guy was a veteran sales guy with a european decent, at first he was very skeptical as to my actual intent to buying. I can't really blame him as when i sold cars i would treat me the same way. a 20-something looking at a sports car... i fit the description of someone looking for a joy ride i guess, but once he 'qualified' me in his eyes he really turned around and did his job well. I think i want an 04 though not an 03, something about not buying the first model year of a car...
on the upside my wife said that i can pull the trigger if i want. woot!

i was close at first to be honest, but at the same time I know I would have done the same thing if I was in his shoes.
I'm not looking for your approval, just that a lot of people on here have knowledge of cars that I don't... so opinions and first hand info is valuable to me

thanks
jay

Oh I din't mean it that way, but yeah, it happends alot. I get the weird ass looks when I walk into dealerships as well. Helps somewhat when you go to a dealership in a sports car, then atleast they think well if he drives one... good luck with your purchase man

350's are great cars, not as great as the 300TT but when you had a little boost it's a rocket, Ive done work on a few 350s and G35's same car really but fun to drive as for concerns none that I know of as Iam next door to the nissan dealership I talk to the techs when I go over to pick up parts. If you get one and decide to step up to the plate and do the greddy Twin Turbo kit honeslty tuned right you'll have anice all around sports car. If you really want the low down on thease cars Pm Hollywood G35 as I have done all the work on his he'll tell you what to expect when owning thease machines

The 350 really grew on me. After seeing the #'s Hollywood is putting down it really made me want one. I would do it if I were in your position.

I test drove a nissan 350Z and drove my cousin's rx-8. I have to say both cars are amazing. 350z was faster than the rx-8, but the rx-8 felt like it had better handling than the Z.

i've driven one and scared my uncle quite good as it was in his posession at the time. they handle nicely, but are a little on the heavy side and aren't as quick as i thought it would be. getting parts replaced is going to be very pricey. ask about the valvestems... $750+ each.

350

I may be somewhat biased, but the 350 is a great choice!! Even when my G35 was stock - an amazing ride. The car has everything you need - good low end torque, great handling, looks - all in a car that is DRIVEABLE.

I have owned a 300zTT. In my opinion, the 350z is a great replacement. The 300TT runs a 0-60 at 6.2 secs while the 350z runs 5.4 out of the box. In 1997, a new 300TT would run you just shy of $70k!

The 350/G35 is also a great platform to mod if you are considering going FI. There are many supercharger/Turbo kits to choose from. The only question is how much money do you want to spend?!

I have driven a few RX8's. Great handling cars! The RX8 redlines at 9000rpm!! - so what! All the fun is in the low end torque if your car is a daily driver!

The Honda S2k is a great car. Awesome performance and looks to go with it. Too bad you have to be 5'5" and less than 150lbs to fit into the cockpit.

You can't go wrong my friend - GET THE 350!!
