So where is VM going right now....?

Hello Everyone,

I was curious as to the direction VM is heading right now? I have noticed some new Moderators and some old Moderators turning into Admins - Congrats to all those people.

So with all this being done......is there a new plan for VM?

Just curious,
Daniel

Actually it seems a little better than it was before. Given the new owners it'll be interesting to see how local events go about this summer.

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.

I was made an admin because the owners of the site dont have the time to be on here as much as they would like. This gave me the oppertunity to appoint 2 new moderators. We need more moderators becuase there was only I and Nick on the site and Nick has not been on much. So essentially it was just I who was on here.

It was hard for me to keep up with a lot of the stuff that was going on here. Especially with the resurgance of spam bots and such.

The new moderators were chosen due to their participation with VM online and their social and mental abilities. These were not random choices. Also having people online to mod at different times of the day when I am unable to be online helps the situation.

As far as where VM is heading right now, VM is working to make things easier on the users of the site. Trying to keep bickering and name calling to a minimum. Joking around is still live and accepted and even encouraged, but sometimes it gets out of hand. With the winter approaching there isnt much that VM can do as far as car things go, but hopefully as the summer warms up events and such will start to be implimented again.

We do know that Jamesway Contruction is looking for a car club to step up and take some initiave for weekly meets at one of their properties and Ive already talked to them about it and over the winter more information will be worked out between us and them to see where we can go with this.

We do not have any problem with getting people to the site. There are always members online and there are always guests checking out the boards. Usually between 25 - 60 online at any given point. Getting them to participate in places other than classifieds and making accounts is where we need help.

So hopefully VM can bounce back from the rut its been in for the last little bit with the help of the new mods. The rules and everything are all still the same. We have a good community in this area and have no problem running a site to help people connect, buy, sell, talk and converse. We just want to make it a bit more than that and make it better for all members.

It seems to be the normal transition for non model specific car forums.

hold up signs? valet the "members" cars..?
Shine rims? bike to a meet?

or bring "master chief" to a meet on a leash. so members can pet him and get some stress out.
Just trying to figure out your strategy here. thats all.
