I bet that car was a write off. Just because it's a write off doesn't mean it's not good. Have you ever even quoted or fixed a car with that kind of damage before? Parts are cheap, labour is not. It's the labour component that normally causes the write off. Not only that, but you have to do a fair bit to change the brand title from salvage to rebuilt. Photographs of it on the alignment rack, proof of frame measurements and that they are in spec, a valid alignment that is withing spec, safety, etest, blah blah blah. There are lots of cars out there that have been rebuilt. Like any business there are sketchy operations and people out there, but anybody with any sort of workmanship definitely isn't putting a death trap on the road by any means. I rebuilt a vehicle in similar condition and gave it back to my family. After repair it was in as good if not better shape then before.

Oh it was not inteded to be mean just stating the correct infor incase that guy goes off on me again for fixing stuff and not being a licensed body man.

^^ you also forgot since its a US vehivle add DRL get a recall sheet from the US take it to canadian tire get them to switch it to CDN and if there are any other differenced between the US and CDN model change them over.

Corvettes for one to certify in canada you have to change the bumper crash bars because our crash standards are higher than the us so they use different ones

your also an insurance broker too?! id much rather be driving around in a front end collision rebuild rather than a side damaged car. but i guess thats just your experience

okay man! lets rantt!!! listen up chubby.

buddy... thats my thought, i posted it. you got your own, stick to it.
and my experience, i know cars that have been purchased and sold with front impact, side impact?!?! there is a reason its at the junkers and not fixed up, i rather have a car that has never been hit, and if i would choose to fix a car i would rather it been hit from the back.

and yes you guessed right that is just my experience.
and yo dont assume im an insurance broker, cause im not another kid on these forums, ill whip your head boy.

No don't just park it there, hack off what's left of the front end. Then you'll have the definition of Brick

So i started tearing the Tahoe apart yesterday here are a couple updated pics. i took off all the front end, Bumper, rad, condensor, what was left of the headlight mounting plates, the battery battery tray, basically everything on the front end but the Fenders and the hood since it is sitting outside for a couple more days. The rad support is just sitting there it is all unbolted i was just too lazy to carry it to the scrap pile. In the 4th picture you can see my pile of junk parts. the back of the tahoe is filling up with parts that are supprisingly still usable.

lol actually i am a Insurane Broker so i don't do body work for a living but my dad owns that shop. the truck is actually getting fixed THROUGH the shop as a paying customer as it is branded salvage and he has to switch the title to rebuilt and fully document the repair. its the next vehicle to hit the frame rack when one comes off.

I just went through a mini tutorial about restoring frames and such last night and its not done and can be replaced. If you have the right tools, specs and ability you can fix that without much of a problem. I thought the car was a write off too, but now it looks very fixable.
