CEL on 2000 Civic?

What should I look for that's causing a check engine light to come on on a D16Y7 civic with 165k's?

Something to do with emissions iirc, hopefully this turns out something that I can do myself as $$ are short right now.

Thanks for any help,
W.

reset the ecu and see if comes back on

easiest way is just unhook battery.

civics are gay. they have no features no comfort and every person has one. i want a nice, comfortable ride with some jam when i want it. not everyone wants to ride in a shitbox civic with a fartcan and a b series. i wanna ride with some style

Once you reach 165k's it automatically sets off the check engine light. It normally has something to do with emissions that you can't do yourself and costs mega $$$ because the cel knows you don't have $$ right now.

Or

See what the code is and start from there.

I recommend the latter option.

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.

Shawn

If resetting the ecu (see above) doesn't make it go away, I'll be calling you tomorrow.

What time is good to call?

Well I unhooked the battery for about 1/2 hour, hooked everything back up and poof, no more cel light.

Thanks for all your help, I hope that it doesn't reappear.
