Opinions on cars...

Okay I need your opinions on what kind of car I should get next. It needs to start off for less than $7,000 so I have some money to modify it. I really need some ideas as to soem good starting platforms with lots of stuff available. Anyway I just wanted your opinions as I have absolutley no idea what to do. It seems as though my Skyline idea might not exzactly happen and it is not exzactly something I can easily fix if it something breaks. I am still looking for one though if someone has some ideas as to where to get one for a fair price.

Yeah Civic is by far the cheapest and probably the best platform for modifying. THere is so much avaialbe for the car that it's not funny but it's hard to be orginal since mostly everything has been done to them. If you want to be more orginal go with an older talon TSI you dont see many that are done up plus they are pretty fast from the start, and dont take much to get going faster. VW's are also very nice, older style Jetta or the older syle golf.

VW's are also more expensives on all platforms for some reason.

Also, even tho I'm a Honda person myself, Neons are also a cheap buy that can pretty fast after some modding. I saw one breaking the 14 that was NA tuned, but I think it was running NOS.

A DOHC 5 speed neon will easily hit high 13's with some bolt ons and a 75 shot. They are pretty reliable, cheap to maintain and fun to drive. Plus, they are CHEAP to buy, a good DOHC 5 speed car is $4500 or less.

I do like the TSI Talons for sure. As for the Civic I was thinking 96-00 with RSX front end (bolt on kit) and IS300 tails molded in. I was also thinking a CRX with the Widebody kit, some Veilside rims, and a RSX engine swap. (I beleive it is possible). Keep the ideas coming.

RSX engine into a CRX isn't going to be easy by any means. You'll either need an RSX gauge cluster(and make that work in the CRX dash), or go standalone and spend a lot of time setting everything up to work. I'm not even sure if anyone has done a K20 swap into anything that old yet. I've seen it in EG's and newer, but nothing older yet.

the only thing with the civic is that EVERYBODY and their family has one.. so if you're looking to be different, then civic is no good... but if u just need cheap, then sure go for it...

Civic, CRX, Neon

in that order for modification. I'd personally pick a Neon.......but I'm biased and I think there are WAY too many Civic's out there

lol..ya...they are...if you read my post correctly i did say OLD models, which in other words are early 1990's late 1980's...if you dont like to hear it from me, then you can go right ahead and click this link here --> www.autotrader.ca and simply type in the right information...clearly you can see with your own 2 eyes, MANY supras and rx-7's for less than 7 grand

and again if you would like to see some skylines for under 7 grand since you dont seem to like it coming from me, you can go ahead and click this link here ---> www.importconcern.ca and click the broker stock in the top left hand corner
