How many people had a car when they were 17

I'm just curious because my parents don't seem to be understanding why I need/want a car. But the reason I do is for personal satisfaction and so I can own something of high value that I can tend to n shit lol.

I'm just wondering as well, what was your insurance like (per month or year) and what company.

Thanks

yea, ive owned 4 cars since ive been 17... now im 21. but neways i will give you the best possible advice i can from my own experience... if you cant get your parents or an older sibling to insure your car under their policy DO NOT GET A FANCY CAR, even a 1990 escort will cost you like $100/m one way if your 17. i know what it feels like to just have gotten you licence and want a pimped ride but even if you can afford the car the maintenance bills and insurance willl break you. this is the best advice i can give you, plan everything out, ask around and make sure you really think about the financial burden... i mean REALLY think, even write some numbers down.

good luck

PS: at your age get 2way insurance, trust me, youll need it

Before my 16th birthday my parents bought me a 1987 Toyota Tercel Hatchback 4 door. Car was in mint condition. Old lady owned it before us and put on 46,000km. Ran the car into the ground within 3 years, then parents bought me a 1998 Dodge Neon 2dr 5spd DOHC. A step up from the carborated tercel! lol
