sunroof
Has anyone got an aftermarket sunroof installed on their car? Done it by themselves or professionally installed? Where can I buy one and where can I get one installed locally?

It did leak at first. But i took it out and used some different sealer.
I got mine for $25 from a junkyard. it was from another Escort. You can get oien from basically any car as long as its a decent size. like for exaple. i cantake one from an MX3. protege, even a Civic. But something bigger like a Mustang or anythinga long those lines arte too big for the roof. Depends on your car Yes it is freaky as hell to cut the hole the roof. I cut it out smaller then used a disk grinder and fitted it in. and got it really tight. Also teh ehadliner needs to be cut. This is the hardest part. You know that feeling when someone scrathes there nails down a chalk board..well tahstw hat ist liek cutting my headliner. and I had to go slow inch by inch. I thaught I was going to die. it was so bad. Also watch for wires for dome ligfhts and such. Take teh headliner out first. Any questions pm me. John |

wholly shit, yeh looks like the prices will be high and I'll have to do it myself. I'll PM you when I get the courage to go through with this. I don't want to wreck my car. Oh, btw was your sunroof a power sunroof?

Nope. and don't bother. Just stick with a good ol reliable opo up. u would love to ahve a power moonroof. ZBut its not easy at all. They have a lip all the way around the sunroof and drian holes on all 4 corners of teh roof. and the only Escort taht camje with them were Escort GT's. I can do it but the best way is to cut the entire roof off and weld it onto mine at the pillars then do the wiring. If you plan on gettin teh car painted and a bunch of body work and wanna cough out that sorta cash thgen do it. Other than that stay away from one.
