Interior Change ?

I have an opportunity to pick up a JDM interior for my 5th gen prelude ( came out of a SiR Prelude in Japan ) This interior colour combination was NOT available on any North American preludes.

Full Red interior, which includes

Red Leather & Cloth front & back seats
Red / Black Center console with JDM cup holder ( ya that cup holder has a lock, big deal eh? )
Red / Black Door Skins
Red Carpet

Price is $100 + my JDM ITR recaros

Pics of my prelude ( for those that havent seen it )

I always wanted to do this color combo, but after looking at these interior pieces, it might be a bit much

Opinions and cristism are welcome

I'd say the red looks good, especially with the doors being part red and black.

As for the cup holder, the fact that it has a lock on it is not to protect your drink

My opinion is that the red interior looks old and dated IMO. Reminds me of the interior of the 1992 Dodge Caravan we had, white exterior red pin stripe and that interior.
I'm not a fan personally. Unless the JDM thing is going to do it for ya I think that interior is ugly. sorry.

Although I do like the Recaro's that you have, how much?

It depends on what your goal is. If you are going to be taking the car to shows and want points on rarity or originality then you should do it. If you are doing it because you think it looks better then do it. If you are unsure or are just doing it because other people think its cool then dont. The last thing you want to do is regret doing something to your car. We all have done it in the past.

There isnt really a set " goal " other then im thinking about a change ( hence the thread title ) I honestly could care less if people like or dislike it. Im just asking for some feedback / cristcism.

I have a few JDM parts in the car as it stands ( bumper, fenders, seats) I was thinking more or less along the lines of having something no one else has, but know I think about it, theres a reason why :P

Honestly, although the interior is "new" it does look like it is old and used. Personally, i like the recaro's. You must also factor in comfort into your equation, are the stock seats going to be as comfortable as the recaros?

Also, i dont know if this has any bearing on anything, but if it is JDM, would you not be sitting in the "passenger" seat, and your passenger having all the luxuries that you would have had? (if there are any)

Excellent point, Ive been through three different sets of seats in the last coupe of years and the recaros are (by far ) the most comfortable seats ive owned.

Another great point, the passenger seat probably wouldnt have the tilt and lower seat controls.

Thanks for the input thus far guys, I think ill stick with the recaros but have my rear seats done in the same material as the fronts ( black suede red stitch )

I'm not really feeling the red, your current black seats fit well with the exterior of the vehicle.

good idea man! that would be much cleaner... i think the red interior looks like garbge just like other people said... they look way too old school! your car is way too modern for that stick to what you have and redo the rears... that will look sick man, good choice!

What you could do scotty is paint some of ur interior pieces with either paint or vinyl die and you could do any color u wanted. Im doing mine right now actually in all black. Ive done the seats door panels dash pieces and everything and it lays on great and looks awesome. Just a thought if u want a change but not that big of a change.
