do these match/flow with the car?

I basically need to replace the seats in our datsun as they don't have the support/comfort that I need for my back (lets just say the 24hr drive home on stiff suspension didn't go well).
anyway here's the car for those who forget:

Here's the best interior pics that i have, you can see from the first one there is no lateral support and its basically flat, 30yrs of driving will do that i guess... *shrug* they are in awesome shape for their age, just comfort isn't there. You can feel the springs in the old seats, kinda cool, kinda not..lol

here are the seats that i'm looking at style wise

Thoughts?

I dunno about you, but, since you've got yourself an older style car, try and find some better quality seats out of another one, or get the ones you have refurbished to keep it looking classic.

the seats that i have in mine are the same style as all Z's from 1970-1979 and mine are in about as good of shape as they come. There is no real way IMO to get the support/comfort from these seats due to the design that i'm going to require without completely changing how they look (seat and back bolsters) and getting new covers made for them both.
make sense?

Or, go junkyard shopping. Find a set out of an Rx-7, 300z, etc, and dye them black. There are a crapload of very good OE quality seats for cheap in the yard, that could be refurbed to look like new and provide a lot of support. I *loved* the seats in my 90 Celica GT4. Without a doubt the most bolster support from any vehicle i've driven in, without a set of sparco's. But, they wouldn't fit the motif

Oem

You have a gorgeous datsun...please keep it OEM. Get the stock seats refinished if you need to. I love that car!

Hmm...well you may be right. I know I've seen it done before, but then again you are messing with the stock seats and whether they look stock I don't know. If you can store your seats somewhere where they can't get ruined, then maybe you could just swap in some aftermarket seats, so you can always restore it to stock.

i've got lots of space in my house/garage to keep the seats, they definately will be kept for the future just in case

that car is seriously beautiful

the style your looking at gettin wouldn't be too bad- but def. ditch the red stitching - regardless of whether it matches the car or not

With the red stitching they'll look very nice in the vehicle.

I'd suggest a chrome or brushed older style 3 spoke steering wheel with a leather wrap and matching red stitching to keep the cool points on the awsome level.

Those aftermarket seats look good. Just make sure you either keep the OEM seats in good condition to put them in later, or sell them to another 240z/280z owner who's restoring their car.
