In may my neon will be going in to get the bottom end rebuilt as well as the topend.

I need to know of any good shops to get the following:
JE forged rods and pistons
PT top end kit (probably go through chrysler)
PT clutch (chrysler)

Now how much would it cost to have all that done, estimating.

The motor has 190,000km on it but its solid, just want to upgrade and rebuild. Its in running condition but since it will be getting taken apart for some new rings i figured why not go all out.

Does anybody have any recommendations on places to get it done. I have a great mechanic but greatness comes at a price. And what else should I consider doing.

And how much should this end up costing, installation and parts. Money is not an issue so its all good.

And neonSRT how hard was it to do your coilover assembly. I like the idea, and if it worked out good i will be getting some from sanderson before may.

Modernperformance in the states wan'ts $1200 american for the kit above. Its eagle forged rods, JE forged pistons at 10.1:1 compression.

Around $5000 cdn for everything. talk to Essential Speed for their engine builder Pete. Don't know his number off hand, but I know he is doing a 2002 neon motor now.

Kyle, if you're willing to shop prices, be sure to check out Rudy Held in New Hamburg. I went in their asking questions about some headwork and the guy that does the headwork grabbed a Cavilier head he was working on, brought it out and went through everything they'd do to it. Really nice guys, always answering questions. Plus, a little bit of a plus is that they've been around since the 70's so their older guys that have lots of experience with cars and are also very mature and experienced in their business activities too.

yeah for sure. I'm gonna see first if Derek at senderson can get me the same kits at around the same cost. And if he can then I will be looking for a shop to get it done. Anybody know what kinda improvements this will offer, performance wise?
