Wheres a good, cheap place to get a CD player installed?
Yo
im getting my 2004 Cavalier sometime next week, and the first thing i want to do, is throw my CD player in there... I did some research, and realized that the only way to get it in, is to take the whole dashboard out... Does anyone know a good cheap place in Kitchener, or Cambridge, that will do it for cheap... like really cheap? thanks |

Just be prepared to spend a bit of cash for a bypass...not 100% sure on the 2004 cavy, but I know the newer models have the computer running through the headunit...install cost on a 2001 was about $160...most of that for the parts

I think you need to have the stock deck mounted in the trunk hooked up so that some accesories will still work. Not 100% sure, so like VWGuy said, talk to Rob at Boomin' and he'll hook you up.

yea, i got my deck installed at boomin for $40, and an extra $35 for a new support thing, so $75 total, but since u have a chevy, with a fuked up electrical system, it might be alot more dude..but yea, Boomin did a good clean job, its still workin til this day!

Yes you can have the stock deck relocated to the trunk to avoid the use of the bypass...If you disengage the stock deck altogether and don't go with a bypass you will lose your doorchimes and a chance of having the airbag not work properly...

I think my friend with a '98 had his stock stereo relocated to the trunk somewhere, a VERY POOR GM VEHICLE DESIGN FEATURE!!! Good thing the only GM I own, I'm NOT replacing the stock deck

Bring it over here and I'll install for free...
Theres a little trick to installing without having to remove the dash and bypassing the cpu. ------------------ [ Kris ] - Formerly known as BigTymer Pioneer |ZC| PM7 ECU | AEM | Magnaflow | Monster Cable |MB Quart |
