A Good Decent Priced Bodyshop

Hey Guys

My usual bodyshop has closed due to retirement. So, I'm looking for a bodyshop that does good work and does not charge a fortune. The Car is a '91 Chevy Sprint and I don't want to pay 10 times what it's worth.

I have the Sprint Turbo bumpers, side skirts & Hood I want to get installed. The rocker panels need to be done and I want the entire car painted.

BTW: I already have the paint, flake and hardner etc...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Being its a 91 Spirit, your gunna pay double what it's worth no matter what

You have to decide, do you want it done right, and perfect.........if so go to Martin's Customizing, and talk to Harold. Or you what it painted meh ok, then go to macco

This isn't a shot at your wheels, but taking it to any reputable shop it will more than likely cost more than what the car's worth. They'll more than likely tell you that too. Not that the car isn't worth keeping (them things are nice and cheap to run), but that's what they'll tell you.

If you're looking for another retired guy, try the penny saver. You'll see ads in there for retired guys offering cheap re-paints. Maybe give them a call and see if they want to do a bit more.

The other option is to try and do it yourself. I did that with my Escort. Do the body repair work yourself, then if you're not comfortable painting it yourself, take it in for a cheap re-paint. Other than a compressor, the tools are pretty cheap and it's not that hard to do once you've done a little reading. Just takes time, that's probably the biggest cost in body work.

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.

He's right. I'm currently under going my own repair and paint. Other then the materials and the cost of a welder/compressor, it's very cheap to do a paint job (could repaint my civic for under 1500$ including new body panels) but it would be around 50-100 man hours. Get a friend to help you to reduce the total time of the paint job. Alot of the paint job time is sanding and prepping.
