I personally think this whole Booth Idea wont fly. If people dont go around talking and introducing one another, what makes people think they'll just walk up to a booth and say hi...

Is the whole point of this booth thing just to walk up and pay a dollar for a handshake? :tounge:

Personally I dont think the booth is needed...why don't admins just wear special VM admin T-Shirts?

Thats a good idea!!! Except instead of admins, all the members(that want to) could wear a VM shirt, atleast that way people have some idea who to talk to.

Ummmmm guys, good ideas yes, will they work...... maybe, will I be tagged, HELL NO. Listen to the few of the soo many that have issues, then contact someone privately and explain your disapointment. More then half of the people at the meets have no Idea that it is a VM meet. Its just a place to meet and chill.

NO FRICKING BOOTH, and NO DAMN T-SHIRTS. NO FRICKIN WELCOMING COMITEE. BOOHOO, grow up, this isn't highschool anymore, and no one is the last kid picked.

Might be blunt, but this is just ridiculous.

Dude you don't need a VM meet to hang out with your 5 buddies. You can do that at your house.
I'm acctually ashamed that you are an admin after that post.

I'm acctually thinking of setting up a small booth where the admins can stay and give out information and introduce themselvs to anyone who comes by.
this is a good idea, because no one talks to me either.....maybe because i am ugly, who knows

I showed up for the last bit of the meet before it started raining :P lol Finally made it out to another meet, worked on the hood as much as i could to make it look decent for the meet, although theres still alot of sanding to be done to it and the bumper. But I think their coming along good, and I must say, the headlight conversion was well worth the time. Love the new look it gave, although I still have to move up the corner lights. But hey... All in good time.

I encourage people to be more social at meets, bust some of my social butterfly stylez and wander and go talk to different people!

Why??
I'm not saying is a good idea or not, because IMO it has pros and cons. I just want to see why you think is a bad idea?? You can just state that and not have any reasons.

you want to set up a booth for admin to chill in......
well i dont like that idea because they are sort of entitled to stay there as the welcoming krew. What if they wana go and walk around and do stuff?
also some noobs might not wana go up to a booth, bc they are sort of shy?...maybe they just wana walk around and meet people?

i think it would be better idea if the admin wore specific shirts (RED VM shirt??) and just walked around and chatted up with people. This way people/noobs wouldn't feel as intimidated and the admin could go and actually check out cars and chat with people..and it would be very natural

that is my 2cents

[steps on soapbox]

i really don't know what the whole deal is about people not being talked to as much as others.

This does seem somewhat childish, if you disagree please re-read this entire thread. We, as adults, are arguing because some people felt left out at a meet. Umm does everyone expect everyone to go to everyone to say hi, give the life story and say they have a sweet car? If so then you need to wake up sleeping beauty because you are dreaming. This is a reality that not everyone will talk to everyone, and that not everyone will like everyone's car. Therefore there isn't really going to be a reason for everyone to talk to everyone... know what i mean? Further how do you expect people to recognize you by your car or in person if you are a newbie? I went to a 'small' gathering once, no one knew my name, no one knew my car... who cares? I saw some cool cars, i talked to a few people and that's how it goes.

I don't know why you guys believe that it is the admin's obligation to introduce themselves to EVERY member that stops in, what about what they want to do? or who they want to talk to? that's asking a LOT of a few. doesn't seem fair IMO.

This just seems a bit surreal for a bunch of people to get this wound up over a lack of attention...
Its like saying
LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT MY CAR.... YA OVERHERE!!! ME ! ME! ME!
