f*cking shops!

ok, it's my turn to rant...

I've been without my car for almost 2 weeks now, car needs a new clutch. So, I get a new clutch (ACT of course, no stock replacement) and drop it off at my garage so they can start to get to work on the car. That was Monday this week. They said they'd start on it Tuesday, as they're busy right now. So I figure that split the work between 2 days, it'll be done by Wednesday in time for me to go to work (on nightshift).

So I call yesterday, and they only started workin on it that day! (what happened to Tuesday ) They said they were having trouble getting the tranny off. OK, I figured... Thursday, be done for sure. Once again, I call today, and they've only just taken the tranny apart! Apparently the tranny fork or some shit is broken, so one more part that'll need to be ordered...

Right now then, I'm looking for it to be done tomorrow, and if it's not, fuck are they ever gonna hear from me! this is getting ridiculous!! I don't care if they're busy, they had the parts they needed on MONDAY. A clutch replacement can't take any longer than about 6-7 hours I figure, and it's now 3 days later! The actual phrase used when the guy answered the phone was "plugging away at it." WTF is that? I've only been taking my cars there for 5 years, and you're plugging away at it?? get it fucking done already!!

I'm so pissed!!! just had to get that out... if it wasn't in the shop already, John, your offer is sounding better every day...

[/rant]

LOL that was great. But if you own a dsm you must be prepared that no one wants to work on it. Also you must be ready to
accept that its going to break often. Thats what they do. But I still love mine. sometimes.....

bahaha @ boost

But seriously, you have to be patient, when I was getting a new engine dropped in my car they told me it would take a week at the most if they got the new eng on monday. They got it on monday, but I never got the car back for 2 weeks, and everytime I called they told me that they had setbacks or missing parts. The following monday I got a call that it was finished, on top of that they told me they gave the car a FULL detailing inside and out, topped er' off with full synthetic oil, and a full tank of gas waiting for me to pick her up

bahahahahah louis you f*cker!! I've got all 3 things posted, but figured, Hell, the mechanics do it for a living, they should be able to get it done faster. Boy was I wrong! second day that they shoulda been working on it, all they had was the tranny out, next day, had the tranny apart... how much time did they spend on my car, 1 hour a day???

the saga continues...

the clutch fork that was broken, for some reason must not have been ordered yesterday, because they're not going to get it now until Monday. that's the story anyway... so I call up Heffner Lexus-Toyota and ask about the clutch fork for my car, and if ordered before 4pm, they can get it the next day. so my garage is now lying to me, saying they can't get it until Monday? or they just don't want to work on my car until Monday?????

now, after 5 years of these guys servicing my car, they have lost my business once this is all over and done with. DIY, no matter what it is! I'll rebuild my whole goddamn engine if I have to, with no experience at all!

as soon as I have the key to my car and have paid, they're gonna hear it from me!
