^^ Not knocking them in any way, but I highly doubt a small company like that has the best network admin, web developer and programmers out there..

Beyond that, he wants free hosting, not a $4000 site with $10/month + hosting.

Back on track, check with your ISP.. Rogers and Bell both offer totally free webspace with your accounts, with no popus/ads. Probably MUCH better bandwidth limits than geocities too.

Phoenix, I HATE cpanel with a passion.. I thought it was handy until I tried to do anything that I normally do with the apache(web server program) conf and found out its actually harder.

yea i know what you mean, even some of their simple things like cron jobs are pretty primitive on there. however it is an excellent learning source for newcomers and most likely the best way to develop an interactive site for the boy scouts hehe.

for instance phpbb is not even that secure of a message board, however its functionability and its customizable interface make it widely popular. and what truly keeps it alive is its community, im sure this site could use a "better" forum board but the benefits outweigh the need.

i think were way ahead of the original poster here so...

that webhosting is an excellent choice. and your best solution would be a php-nuke or post-nuke install so you can display information as well as interact with your users without any coding experience neccessary (its all done thru the net visually!)

anyways best of luck!
