DSLR Users Unite! Post here.

Use this thread for discussions about lenses, cameras etc. Also, as a first post please post what equipment you are using (camera, grip, lenses, cards whatever).

I am curious to see how many of you guys are out there, from what I can tell, the consumer DSLR camera market has exploded and almost everyone is buying one, already has one, or wants one.

Copy and Paste this and fill it in.

Gives additional buttons for portrait photos, as well as room for 2 batteries instead of one. Works well with heavy lenses, and guys with bigger hands.

Can't help u with the charger question TOm, but u need to pick up some UV filters and keep them on all your lenses. Especially for that 28-135 lens. Just make sure that the UV filter is threaded for another filter to go over it.

Did u buy any lens hoods during your recent spending spree???

I highly recommend them (as does Kyle) for any type of shooting outdoors where there's uncontrollable light in various directions and indoors when there are spot lights and such like at car shows.

Lens hoods are huge for what you pay for them, as Mike says. I have one on each of my lenses and leave them on in all conditions. Just helps filter out any unwanted sources of light.

Tom, do yourself a favour and get yourself a circular polarizer for each lens size if you can afford to. Possibly a Haze lens also, but the polarizer is the big one.

The polarizer is amazing for outdoor shots and is very versitile when it comes to picture editing. Worse case scenario with a polarizing filter is that your pictures come out too blue. Hop on PS, use the color variations option, bring down the blue a couple notches and you're on easy street from there.

I have had a difficult time finding a polarizing filter for my main use lens (28-135) as its a 72mm, i found a haze uv, and thats what i mainly use on it.

I am looking at purchasing a 17-40L as my main lense instead of purchasing any of the others i mentioned on my wish list, besides the fisheye. I definately want that.

L glass is pimp, but it can get pretty expensive.

My next purchase will be the 20D, then possibly a flexible piece of L-glass, but that's too far ahead in the future, and I still have to worry about my car situation...*sigh*

I just got a 15mm Fisheye. Quite the interesting lense. If used correctly the fisheye can be a very subtle Wide angle lense. I am impressed.

Uhmm. thats not a SLR Camera, it has a fixed lense, being just a high end consumer camera..

Also, 50GB disk? when the camera only accepts CF or Memory stick, thats impossible, unless this is another one of the future things you plan on buying.. kind of like your 2.0T swap...

Also, update the list of shit I have.. this camera stuff is addicting.

I got out of DSLR's.. just too many people were doing it, and I really never had the time to compose shots.

So, I got into HDTV video, and picked up a HD Sony miniDV camcorder.
