30 pounds is a huge difference, I feel like a completely different person, can't wait to get the other 25 off, so I can really concentrate hard on getting stronger, its kinda hard right now well trying to lose weight, although I have done fairly well with getting stronger.

Oh and the beer and wings, hahaha, ya right, no deep fried foods at all, and haven't had anything alcoholic since I started

funny you should say that. I recently read an article written by one of the premier strength coaches in the world explaining his method for accelerated fat loss. It looks something like this.

Day 1: Heavy lifting chest/back + alactic work

Day 2: Lactate-inducing workout 1 + 20-30 minutes of steady-state aerobic work

Day 3: OFF

Day 4: Heavy lifting quads/hams

Day 5: OFF

Day 6: Lactate-inducing workout 2 + 20-30 minutes of steady-state aerobic work

Day 7: OFF

Alactic work = sprinting

4 x 30m (120m total) + 3 x 60m (180m total) = 300m

or...

6 x 30m (180m total) + 2 x 60m (120m total) = 300m

or ...

5 x 60m = 300m

or...

1 x 30m, 1 x 60m, 2 x 100m = 290m

now this routine will also help you gain strength and muscle as well as destroy fat. I used it to shed some quick fat and i gained about 2lbs of lean body mass. The point of this routine is to keep your body guessing on how its going to burn the fat so it never "ada[ts" and slows down the fat burning process. If you would like the full routine just pm me.

Nice work guys. 30lbs is tough congrats.

Just finished the first week of my 12 week program. Most of my changes will be nutritional though. Trying to pack 10lbs lean in 12 weeks. Wish me luck.

From having smaller friends that have put on weight I know how hard it is from seeing them, some of them really focused, and gained a lot of weight, I'm sure you'll git'r'done...lol

Oh and Nick, the problem with that is its too organized, I go to the gym when I can and keep it really low key and relaxed. Always make sure the main thing is to enjoy it and have fun, after all I'm working at a life style change, not just a diet.

Oh and byt he way guys, was kinda pumped at the gym today, flat bench got 245 up 5 times with no help, all the way down to the chest on each one. Just thought I'd share as i was pretty pumped about that. After that tried for 280 for a single rep, didn't happen though, maybe next saturday try 275 and go from there.

oh i had someone spotting me and pushing me, but i wore myself out doing the 245 5 times, chest was tired as fuck after that, was good either way though. Haven't done bench for a while just been using dumbells for chest so it was cool to have a spot to do bench for a change

Just got back from my nutritional counselling. So to start I am to eat 3400 calories a day and I am suppose to increase my fat intake (good fats, non saturated). This should be fun.

Anybody else following a prescribed meal plan?

To a degree with weight watchers, still can enjoy myself though, don't really feel like I'm on a diet

Hey Rough, I'll jump in here. I was going hardcore before jan then I pulled my back out and took over a month off. Just starting to get back up to respectable size/strength now. Repped 285 5 times today with a slight spot on 6. Before I was hurt I was repping 315 twice I'd really like to get back there, maybe in ther summer. Last time I got the body comp analysis done was in nov or dec and I was 11% bodyfat weighing 202, today I weighted in at 203.9 but I'm guessing I may be a little leaner as well I've been hitting legs really hard lately so I've been packing on the lbs and not really gaining much upper body quickly. When are you going to get a membership at popeyes dude family fitness is shit. We should hit it up some time you know I'll drop by, you can let me drive the datsun to gym, then I'll school your ass it'll be great

um saturated fats are good for you. They help raise test levels and you need them. You are thinking of trans fats.

Is that right? Cause from what I've read and been told is that saturated and trans fats are bad fats (if taken in too much quantity).
