It's legal AFAIK, as long as you don't use it to interfere with police officers.

I listened to the Saskatoon police scanner before (which is way better be Saskatoon is way more ghetto) but they showed on their website that is was legal. Sadly the site is dead now, I believe due to lack of enough funding for the crazy bandwidth they need.

Both. To have a transponder that is capable of picking up police signals (from what I was told) is illegal. In order to accomplish what this site is doing, he would need a transponder, the output being streamed online via a computer.

Doesn't bother me however. I was just wondering on what level of legality this site is running.
