If you have about 2grand saved for a rainy day buy the neon. But if you wan't something different get the ZX3.
But seriously the neon isn't so bad as long as you get a 98+ with low k's! |

A first great car that would be reliable and mod friendly would be a Civic/Integra. For 6K you can find a decent one out there.

Re: 1st Car advice
First car? On a budget? Get a cheap reliable economy commuter car. Keep it stock/reliable. An old diesel VW beater is cheap, super cheap on gas (like 800-1000 km/tank), cheap to insure, and if you get a good car is bulletproof.
I wouldn't suggest spending money to modify it. IMHO, it's far more cost effective and you get better results 9/10 times taking a fairly fast platform (IE, RWD, V8 or a motorcycle) as a second 'fun' ride. ------------------ \'03 Suzuki GSXR750 |

eh
i second the civic/integra choice. you can get like a mid 90's model for around 5-6G's, kms dont really matter too much, usually the first thing that goes on any honda/acura is the body as it rusts easily, either than that, mechanically, not too much to worry about.

I know where you can get a 1996 neon ACR* for $3000 OBO... It just passed an etest, and the only thing stopping it from passing a safety is the speedo doesn't work.. Probably a speed sensor...
Recently rebuilt engine, 500kms on the motor, 71000 on the car. The engine was built to be an allmotor drag engine, but then the owner decided to go for a V8, no one bought the car with the built engine, so he returned it to stock.. ------------------ Roses are #FF0000 Violets are #0000FF All my base are belong to you. |
