The Da Vinci Code

Anyone read it???

I'm about 3/4 of the way through it...an Aussie friend on my trip hooked me up with a soft cover version of it...it's only available in hardcover in North America so far.

It's a great story...makes it very tough to put the book down. Dan Brown is an amazing author...some of the stuff in it about the Catholic Church and the history of Jesus, art and the Louvre is amazing because most of it is true. A great book!!!

I have also heard rumours that it's gonna be made into a movie soon too...it'll be dope. I wouldn't be surprised if the main character, Robert Langdon, is played by Harrison Ford.

(I have a feeling Will will be replying in this thread.)

Chris, I'm not a speed reader or anything and in total it'll take me 3 days to read, a few hours a day. It's a great book that's written so well you'll miss work, breakfast, lunch, dinner and sleep to read...maybe even sex...nah, nevermind, not sex. But it's good.

I enjoy it a lot too because I was just at the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa so I can visualize it a lot easier, but even if I weren't there, it's very easy to visualize it.

Why did you think I'd be a sure bet to reply.....?? Am I that big of a post-whore lately?

I haven't actually read it yet, but as soon as my gf's mom is done with it I'm borrowing it. My gf LOVED it, and I'm excited to check it out too.

There are hundreds of books and videos about it. Basically it discusses the way the Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican has chosen to make the Bible the way they want it. And how there are secret organizations that hold the information that could bring down the Roman Catholic Church and pretty much all of Christianity.

Some the book is a fictional story that uses truths and facts that make for a great read.

I could tell u everything about the secret organizations and the things the Catholic Church is hiding, but it's much more entertaining when u read about it in the book.

I was at Blockbuster yesterday and they had a DVD in the new release section called the Da Vinci Code...I'll be renting it when I finish the book...it's a documentary that interviews priests, scentists, doctors and historians.

There are prolly hundreds of sites on the web that discuss the Da Vinci Code more than people discuss whether a Civic is better than a Sunfire. But I would recommend reading the book first before doing any research on it.

good book - BUT ONLY because of the facts that are in their - if none of the stuff about the Priory or any of the secret society stuff wuzn't true, it'd be a very basic story, but because a lot of it wuz true, it wuz interesting - basically its a good read to get yourself into the whole secret society 'scene' (?is that auxymoronic?) story itself is rather basic - blah blah. anyone ever read 'The Celestine Prophecy"? book changed my life at the time but now that i look back, it's the exact same thing - they used 'some' known facts around a silly little 'egg hunt' for a truth that will/should never be revealed, but it's still a good book. - half to say that i recommend reading "the celetine prophecy' - it's about taking a look at life from a different perspective, and it's kinda cool. (plus it's about using 'jedi' like powers - YA i'ma nerd -waheva)
lol - my two cents
