Ontario Highway Traffic Act

This would be a good thing to sticky.

Thanks to Kace for telling me about this.

This would be a good read the next time that a cop pulls you over for something stupid...or to prevent the cops from having a feild day with writing up your car.

Rear lamps to illuminate number plate

(19) The lamp on the rear of a motor vehicle or trailer shall be of at least three candela and shall be so placed that it will, at any time from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise and at any other time when, due to insufficient light or unfavourable atmospheric conditions, persons and vehicles on the highway are not clearly discernible at a distance of 150 metres or less, illuminate the numbers on the number plate, or, if provision is made on the number plate or on any attachment furnished or required by the Ministry for affixing the lamp, it shall be affixed in the position or space provided, and the lamp shall face to the rear and reflect on the number plate a white light only. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 62 (19).
I think that is what Kace was looking for. I guess the red lights over the plates are illegal!

I've used it many times...

Unfortunetly, Kyle is right and it specificallly states that white lights only, therefore, I'm gonna try a different angle in court, I already have one planned...or, I might even try a traffic lawyer, even f it costs me $110 in the end, just so that the lawyers will harrass the cop just like he did to me and they do to us.

I'm just going to stay with the whites for my plate....but they'll be all white LEDs in an Epoxy housing that can be removed from my plate for show times. *shrug*

Aren’t the new Neons sold without mufflers?

your best bet is not to get lippy with a cop ever. Don't think that you know the law because that pisses a cop off even more. Then he will hit you with a law that you have never even heard of. I am taking police foundations and trust me there are alot of laws!!

Who the fuk gives a ticket for a missing lug nut?

That cop should have had his partner do a cavity search on his ass, he must have sat on his night stick.
