its dumb, based soley on the fact that having an email address is not part of having a license.

If a police officer asks me for my email address, I'm not going to give it to them, but I assume they will still electronically enter the information, I just won't receive a copy via email.

lol thats kinda cool. again if your not speeding or being a dick your fine. the only problems i see are.1. not everyone has email.2. some people have more then one addy.3. a simple mistake sends it to someone else.4. way to easy to block them. lol

The new computers enable members of the OPP, MTO and Toronto Police to enter data immediately into the system and will automatically send a copy of the infraction directly to the courts.

I've got a ticket. I don't think cops are gay. I have only had good experiences. There may be some that are assholes but there is always one bad apple in the bunch...kind of like yourself.

Too many laws? ha little do you know how much freedom you really have.

OK enough crazy talk about emailing you your ticket. First I must appologise for this being so late, but I just saw this thread.....
Again there seems to be some confusion.... There is no emailing you a ticket. The ticket is filled out electronically, printed out on the spot and given to you, and then the the electronic file of the ticket is sent via a wireless conection to the police station/ courts. This eliminates errors associated with hand writting and data entry. for more information check out the following.

I believe Ottawa already uses this too.

should've read through the posts, it's already been covered that you don't get a copy of the ticket

cool technology, hopefully the info never gets scammed though

Demagnatizing the strip on the back might also affect your ability to get into clubs

Yes the Traffic Unit in Ottawa has been using this system for some while. They may have been the pilot.

Its quite cool. It definately saves them time from writing each ticket out.

It highly unlikely the information could be comprimised as I'm sure its the same wide area digital network used for the mobile data terminals.
