It seems you're missing one key word here. TYPICALLY. I never said that's how it always works. Maybe I just got lucky with mine, who knows. The impression I got when I was getting quotes was that they didn't seem to care about a minor ticket without points. But what do I know, Slawek is always right
Matt Out ------------------ This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya. |

dbeshara, that's not just with your company... that's with every company.
Any major speeding offense is just what you said, 50km/hr or more over the limit. Any minor speeding offense is anything under 50km/hr. Therefore, it doesn't matter if you were caught speeding 5km/hr over the limit and the cop gives you a speeding ticket. Although it's no points, it's still a minor speeding offense and it goes on your record for 3 years. They don't ask for details when quoting insurance. They want to know how many tickets, and what kind of tickets (i.e. speeding, seat belt, racing, etc.). Some companies will give you a 'freebie" when you get your first offense, but once you get your second one, the first one counts. That's why it's always important to fight them. Points are just for the Ministry of Transportation. If you accumulate too many points, you can lose your license. It doesn't mean you can't get insured, it means you can't be licensed. I always hear people advise "just pay the ticket, it's no points", and that's the wrong way to look at it. /edit: Matt, you're an ignorant asshole. You're giving advice to people on your misconceptions. Yes I'm right because I took the time to do the research. Stop giving false advice when it comes to insurance or other money matters if you don't know what the hell you're talking about. ------------------ --- Down Under --- Last edited by Slawek; 08-16-2006 at 03:07 PM. |

That's what I'm trying to do. No need for sarcastic BS, but he had to bring it.
Anyway, hope that helps. I'm pretty sure the original issue has been resolved and the thread should be locked before it gets even nastier. ------------------ --- Down Under --- |
