Got an Underage drinking ticket

I got an undersage drinking ticket yesterday so i figure i would post the story. Yesterday me and 3 friends are walking in waterloo, residential neighboorhood. We stop at a dark park, thinking it would be a good place just to hang out for a little bit. So after about 45 minutes, these random flashlights come out of knowhere.

So i figure its the by law like last time. It was bylaw as well as a cop. So after some joking around with him and telling him we all drank. He checks my bag, and I have 4 water bottles of water, and my empty peach vodka bottle that i wanted to get refund for. So in the end that .40 cents is going to cost me 125 dollars :/.

We follow him back to his car, chat it up about best cources to take, he jokes about taking alot of time to write for a ticket and so on. So in the end he says he will give me the ticket since its my backpack and us 4 will all pitch in for it.

Not a big deal i guess, totally my fault so whatever im going to pay it no problem. First I have two questions. Is he able to search my backpack under his own descretion or did he need my permition? Not as it matters just curious and im going to pay it. Next it came with an envelope, can i jsut go down to the station in Waterloo or Kitchener and pay it up front or do i have to send away with the money?

Also the by-law officers said they could have gave us a noice violation but they let us off. So in the end, always throw away empty bottles and pick a better spot to drink underage

i believe that if he has suspicion that you were drinking (you said it to him from the story) then he can search your persons, same as if he was looking for drugs and you were stoned... and you can take the money to the address on the ticket and pay in person. i believe you can now pay them online as well if that floats your boat. they will not accept cash in the envelope if you mail it it has to be either a money order or a cheque.

hope this helps.

good stuff for not being a d!ck about it *thumbs up*

Pay online. Next time kick him in the balls and take his pistol, running around yelling "yeeeeeeeeeee hawwwwwwwwwww".
Shoot in air a couple times for a greater effect.

I just heard that apparently insurance companies find out about tickets like this, is that true? I wouldnt see why they do seeing it has nothing to do with operationg a vehicle.

It should have nothing to do with insurance at all. Kinda similar, but a group of us were out one night and one in the group ended up getting an open alcohol ticket. We chatted it up with the cop, and he informed us that it's unrelated and won't have an effect on auto insurance.

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.

It has NOTHING to do with driving, hence nothing to do with insurance dude, don't worry! Just get it taken care of (split the fine, it's all good). It's like jay walking or public intoxication, nothing to do with driving..

Funny story

Getting a ticket for drinking?

That's the gayest thing I've ever heard! I didn't get a ticket for doing worst things while chilling on public property in a car, hell, he didn't ask for ID or ownership or insurance...the cop let us drive away too. Must of gotten lucky.
