HELP PLEASE!!!!

HEy everyone, just got home today checked my messages and a cop left a message for me pretaining to my muffler stop on the 3rd of april. He wants me to call him back because I haven't contacted him about my muffler. I was wondering if someone with more knowledge about this area could reprsent me and call him back about this matter? I'm freakin scared to do this, he sounds scarey and I don't have a fuckin clue as to what to say! Can someone please help me out!

Work number. All he did is give me a warning tag...for a week, then he'd send me a ticket after that week, if I didn't get it fixed and showed him the proper papers. Thats it. And I didn't get it fixed and now he would like to speak with me??? thats the details...

hmm... never heard of that happening...

if you have the know-how for putting mufflers on, and the tools to do it... maybe just put a quiter one on, and when the cop sees it, and hears it.. it will be quiter... but when hes gone, throw the one you had back on... even a cherry bomb turbo II from crappy tire is prety quiet

If I say my car is in the shop, he'll request some reciept or something. I'm thinking next, he's gonna make a house call. And then I'm really screwed (providing I dont call him back)....I dunno why he's doin this, and I wanna get outta it, but I have no idea how!? What's he gonna say to me on the phone?

you want to know why he's doing it? I'm going to guess b/c ur mufler is LOUD as hell and it disturbs people...
You want to get out of it, not sure how? Take off the muffler and get a quieter one on the car.
He's going to ask you if u changed the muffler, if not he'll ticket you. After all he DID give u a week to fix/change it didn't he?

This isn't too difficult to understand. He warned you to get it fixed, gave you time, and now its later and he's checkin' up on u... u didn't do anyhting to reserect the situation and now you are unsure what to do? Fix the damn muffler.

Fix it? How can I when there is nothing wrong? Answer me that? And I wasn't disturbin anyone, it was 5pm in the afternoon... I'd rather get the ticket, then talk to him. Cause I was plannin on going to court as is...but now, a twist in the story as arisin!

I am a certified law clerk as well as paralegal. I can tell you that this officer has no authority to contact you without his staff Sargeant being aware. It appears to me that he is trying to use intimidation tactics on you.

If he gave you a written warning that was put on record that you had to produce the noise reduction of your mufflers, than yes, you are obligated to do so. However, if he let you go with a verbal, there is nothing he can do. It's the same situation when you are pulled over for speeding and let go with a warning. They cannot turn around and enforce anything when they have let you leave the scene.

I will tell you though, I am sure he has made mention of this to his fellow officers and they will have their eyes out for you. Unfortunately in the tri-city area, there are so many "ricers" that he probably dropped you into that category.

If there are any details that I may not be knowledged about, or you have any further questions, feel free to PM about it.

................

He gave you a week to get a quieter muffler put on, if you didn't respond he was going to give you an improper muffler ticket($110).

Since you never called back to show him a quieter muffler on your car, hes calling to give you another chance.

Since you still don't have a quieter muffler on, you're screwed. Just own up to it. Call him and tell him you don't have another muffler, the worst he can do is give you the ticket.

I don't see how this was so complicated though?

He said, basically he gave me a ticket for an improper muffler beacuse it goes straight thro...he said i wasn't trying to make noise, so he didn't give me a noise ticket...he gave me till June 2nd to come down to the station and show the receptionest the warning tag, the recipet and the papers showing i got work done...

just go down and say u are a student with low income and did the work yourself and have no receipt. Say you got another muffler from a friend and "hopefully" this one is quiet enought. This is fucking ridiculous, they spend hours for 1 muffler ticket instead of cathing some bastards who infestate highschools w/ drugs.

Call vibrant(or whoever makes the muffler) and have them send you a copy of a letter stating that all their mufflers are noise tested, and legal.

I know for sure that Vibrant has done this in the past. That combined with a receipt for the muffler(showing its made by said company) will get you off easily.
