tickets

Okay, I got tickets for an unsafe vehicle and the plates pulled. I did deserve some of them and I did agree with the cop.But the car isnt in bad shape. It is problems that happened within the last few days since I put my body kit on(broke the harness for my headlight). I do have parts on order for it to fix it. But it is the stupid tickets that I am fighting. Since when did a proper intake (hooked up properly) become illegal? I didnt think it was. Everybody has them. And since I have had all day to cool down....I still dont agree with half of the charges. And I know some of you dont agree with it and this thread will get locked up, but oh well....freedom of speech....lol

well, i'll start off.

1. wrong forum
2. any intake, to the best of my knowledge, is illegal
3. headlights need to be working at all times, even running lights on newer cars
4. you have the right to fight any an all tickets

yeah, I know i have the right to fight em. But I am paying the obvious ones that I know are illegal. I just dont think I should have the plates pulled for them. But oh well it happened. I just thought I would post it, just to let ppl know in case they want to change some mods so they dont get busted for it too.

Ya,
I *thought* that as long as any and all factory emissions control systems remained installed and active it was fine.

I'm no expert so don't quote me.

If you go to court and plead guilty to the ones you deserved, and even just have a good liable story for the intake and how it's legal blah blah blah they'll prolly piss the ticket away. That is unless you're like alot of people and you hook up a little 'breather filter' to the recirc. hose that re-atatches to the intake to recirculate something from the intake manifold that is required to be hook up with a hose. If you use the breather filter shit it effects emmissions as it's not supposed to go to atmosphere. You'll fail emmissions and you get a $500 ticket for it. it's not fun, some of my friends were dumb enough to do that. I'm also pretty sure doing that has no positive effect what-so-ever unless I'm mistaken. It's prolly jut supposed to look cool, either way hook that shit up with the recirc hose to avoid such hindering tickets. Also if you're car uses an MAF sensor I'm pretty sure that has to be hooked up also. I know this usually means unless you get a good intake with these nipples/connections pre-drilled and shit you have to make you're own custom holes. It's not that hard to do either, it's a lazy issue everyone falls victim to once or twice. If you have those un-hooked I'd hook em up.

Heh, I just wrote alot to say what you said.
Recirc hose and MAF sensor if your car is epuiped with one. Whatever else other cars have to, mine have the MAF and recirc hose, some are different with map sensors and shit(aren't those on the throttle body though, or closer to it or something?)
