Too all those that failed the first and other times.. u all suck haha learn how to drive.. i passed first time for everyone and i was speeding on my G test.. As a matter of fact i was told to go faster on the HWY.. i was going 110 already in the 03 Altima and then the guy told me to speed up some more..

When u go do this test.. practice doing the stevie wonder look around and check ur spots every 15 seconds.... If you're in a standard car just keep it in gear the whole time and you will be ok. i never had any problems.

its the test you take to get your full licence, heres how the tests go:

1st step: you turn 16 and take a written test to get your G1 which is your beginners licence and you are only allowed to drive with someone in the passenger seat that has at least 4 years driving experience with a full G licence, and you aren't allowed to have any alcohol in your system.

2nd step: after 12 months of having your G1 or 8 months if you take driver training you are able to take a driving test to get your G2 which is basically a full licence except that you can't have any alcohol in your system and insurance sucks if you are primary driver.

last step: after 12 months of having your G2 you can take another driving test and get your full G licence.

how does the system work down there?

I see. Here you get a permit, at 16, all you have is a little written test. Then you take a driver's education course, and log in 100hrs of drive time with a passenger that is over 18, and has a licence. Then you take the driving test, and written test, and you get a full licence. Here you can't drink untill 21 so it doesn't matter anyway. Oh and if you are 18 or older you don't have to take the driver's ed course. All you have to do is pass the driving, test, and written test.

im scared for it so bad though because i hear more people fail it than pass it on their first attempt

yes the speed on ramps, turns (corners) i believe whatever sign is yellow, is just a "suggested" speed...i asked my driver training guy!

I got dinged on my G for actually doing the suggested speed on on-ramps etc. That was it though.

Rant On
The utter inability of some people to handle a vehicle just amazes me. I know people that should NEVER be permitted on the highways. Hell go watch Canada's Worst Driver 2. NONE of them should be licensed.

Drivers test should be twice as difficult as they are now. It's a fucking joke now.

I can't believe some of the ranting in this thread...

Getting dinged for regulations you didn't know about isn't bull shit, it means you're not fully educated.

You can't get caught doing 70 in a 50 zone and try to say you didn't know speeding was illegal..

As for the flow of traffic, since any single car could be picked out and nailed for speeding if the flow is going over the limit, that makes it a big no-no on a driving test.

For the people failing their G's, did you take Young Drivers, and pass their test?? If you can pass their test, I fail to see how the DMV test is even a slight challenge.

For me, the hardest part was keeping my hands at 10 and 2, and keeping a reasonable speed for the whole time..

i think the whole hands at 10 and 2 is going to be my biggest issue, same with the reasonable speed thing especially on the highway...sometimes its hard to judge

and i think they've added for people getting their G2 now that you cant have more than 1 non-family passenger under the age of 19 or something... or they were trying to make it that way... i heard that somewhere, dont know if its true

and about the young drivers test, i did better on my REAL g1 exit test than i did on the young drivers one, so i hope if i do the refresher thing from there it will be the same case

I REALLLLY don't see the point in refresher course's. Keep your money. Just READ the BOOK or skim over it. That's what I did. I did my g2 exit test exactly a year and 1 day after getting my g2. my insurance dropped 400 bux! w00t.

congrats on passing the easiest test you'll ever encounter in life - it's on the same level as the WHIMS safety quiz you have to take in first year university labs.

I've been trying to drive at 10, and 2 more often. You have more control, and it inspires better posture, than standard ghetto gansta lean 1 hand on method.

Agreed ... both my GF and I got this right before Europe this summer ... biggest joke of a test IMO.

Congrats on finally passing though

When I went to go pass my G test I went with my eg years ago, the thing was dumped, wheels, exhaust and five speed I thought I was gonna fail just cause of the way I would be judeged due to the car. But no I passed and it was easy .... its just common sense!!!

The thing about common sense is that it's not very common

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.
