E-test certificate

Hey guys

I just picked up a cheap 89 Cavalier, thats in mint shape
He said it was e-tested in June 2006, but lost the certificate

Is it possible to go to the DMV, and ask for a re-print....when I change the ownership?
Or is there anyway of gettting another copy of this e-test?, it should be on file shoudl it not, under the VIN #?

I'm not sure about reprints.. but you can check to see it was actually tested in june 06:
http://www.driveclean.com/who/frame_test_hist.html

then you can call the number on the main page and ask:

I believe that's only if the car stays under your name the whole time... If it's a transfer of ownership, I believe that it's only 6 months.

Mine was a transfer of name. I bought it, seen the etest paper in glovebox. Put it in with my safety and sellers package ... did n done. It was still deemed valid.

or ask the seller where he had it done......if its less hen a year ago the testing centre will still have it on file and can print it for you, which will probably be faster then calling the centre...... i lost mine, went back to the testing centre and he was more then happy to print me a new one....
