ticket screw up
Okay I got two tickets...one for not showing rgistration slip and one for not showing insurance slip...they gave both tickets at the same time. They have 2 different license plate numbers on the tickets. Think I can get them both thrown out?

most likely not, if the rest of the information is correct, thn they most likely won't through them out over a small detail like that

they used to throw out tickets like that but now all they need to get right is your address and have your name at least close to the proper spelling and the ticket is valid

Did they not even give you an opportunity to bring the license and registration in? To the best of my knowledge, they gave you like 24 or 48 hours to bring it in to have the tickets removed.

not always. its called a Time to Produce (TTP) and they don't have to give you it, an office rmay issue a ticket if he/she decides so.
if you take it to court, the JP will amend it and charge you. done and done. pay the ticket, not worth the hassel. ------------------ 93 Civic Si-T Hatch... |

no. because you were still driving. and he would run it, there would be no reason not to.
example: 15 year old kid steals a car and takes it for a joy ride, blah blah blah, gets caught. The courts give him a drivers license number so that his license can be suspended until a certain age... ------------------ 93 Civic Si-T Hatch... |

just because your license is suspended, doesn't mean you don't have one anymore. you still have the number, and the license, so you will get charged.

That could happen... It would be rare, but it could happen. However like 500k_93_civic later said you still have a drivers licence number which the ticket gets attached to. Its a matter of identity, the officer only has to prove that he was satisfied with the identity of the driver. In other words, suspended or not, your picture matched the one on the photo drivers licence given at the time. You would have to go to court and make up some bogus claim that some mysterious person had your licence, and was drving your car without your knowledge. Then state that this same mystery person returned your car, licence and gave you the tickets he got while driving. All of which you gladly accepted with out question and never reported to police. Or you could get up there, under oath, and lie saying that you know who the mystery driver was and permitted that person to drive around with your licence knowing it was suspended. Wait...But, I think their are some other offences that you would be committing by doing that. All of which are more serious than the two tickets you have now.... If you do go to court let me know the date, I want to watch that comedy show.... Its probably easier to just pay the tickets though.
