What is with the cops

OK I got of work thursday morning at 4:00am. I decided to head to my shop and jst clean up a little. My shop is on Franklin and I work at Toyota on fountain. I headed down Speedsville towardsd king and right at the railway crossing I get a cop behind me. he followed me to King and then turned on the cherries. A quick glance at the gauges and nope not speeding mabe I goofed and he caught it. NOPE. Where ya going, where ya coming from, ya had anything to drink, ARE YA CARRYING NOS. Yes officer I Got SIX SCUBA tanks filled with the shit in the trunk but only for personal use. Normally I like it when they pull me over and can't find anything wrong but man for some stupid reason that just pissed me off. I don't haver NOS nor would I have it installed in my car when driving to and from work. After he got the address to my shop and later showed up there to "Verify" my story I realized I think they are going a little to far.........

Come to your own conclusion if you want but man we have to get the whole street racer-tuner label straightned out.

This is all I read about on this board now. Sounds like a ridiculous situation.
We have nothing like this here in London, and it's making me really nervous to move to Waterloo for university.

Wait till u get your Droz bottles in your car Drew...I can't wait to hear the stuff they say about them.

K-W wasn't even nearly this bad last year...all this harrassment is new this spring...I've said it before and I'll say it again...we don't live in Toronto. We aren't Toronto, so stop acting like Toronto cops who are assholes.

I always thought that Waterloo Region cops were really cool...but now they're ruining that.

meh.. i know of enough ppl with nos in their rides... but even if its there i dont see why its illigal in the first place... it makes your car go faster... so does a set of headers... or a turbo... whats the big deal with NOS... its not like it turns your car into a killing machine

I've already told this story, but i'll tell it again.

Last year I got pulled over with a large group of cars on my way from DarkNights down McCowen.

A Bimmer was parked beside me as we all waited for the ONE Enviromental Officer checked each car individually. The Bimmer guy didn't know what was going on so I told him that they were checking cars for safety and emissions.

So he asks me if I think he'll get into trouble for having nitrous in the car, I ask if it's actually hooked up. He said yeah. I told him that I didn't know then.

Anyways, the Enviromental Officer checks his car out first before getting to mine. They ask about the nitrous, ask if it's hooked up, he said yes, ask to see where the bottle is. He shows it to them in the trunk. They give him his license back and say goodbye.

No ticket, nothing...I've heard this numerous times that it's not illegal unless they catch u using it on the street.

I was driving down King St last night around 8PM..........cruising at about 35 or 40km/h where out of the blue.......a police officer strolls out from behind a car coming the opposite direction........I SLAM on the brakes as he crosses in front of my car. I almost NAILED the j-walking SOB. I friggin' hate arrogant cops........he saw me coming and ignored me. I JUST saw him as he crossed in behind the oncoming traffic.

Sorta reminds me of all the cops I've seen turn the flashers on to go through red lights so they can pull into Tim Hortons like 1/2 a block away and get their donuts faster.

There was a death in brantford a few years ago where a kid just got nitorus and he decided to hit it right when he was gong around a tight turn. Be blew the car around and it totally lost control...he's dead now.

The problem with Nitrous in thier eyes is that it's waaaaay to easy to hook up and the kids that use it on the street for the most part have no clue what they're playing with or how to control it.

They are

You have to have a transport permit for ALL compressed gases. You are actually even suppose to have one so that you can go get your BBQ tank filled with propane (but who actually does that?)

^^^^ you actually DON"T need a permit for propane and you don't need it for acetylene either. you can carry up to 500kg of either before you need to plaquard your vehicle. i know it sounds stupid as hell but it's true. my company has to transport the stuff all the time and i have gone through this more than once with the MTO. even the MTO doesn't know what's legal or illegal. i actaully had to get the info out of Transportation Canada. i even copied the sections for my drivers so they could show it to all the stupid MTO guys that pull them over for inspection.

Hoeboe is right, at least 100% about the propane. The laws for the other gasses I'm not familiar with. At my part time job we sell 100lb tanks of propane for heating construction sites. 500lbs is the max before you need the dangerous goods permit. Four hours in a transport of dangerous goods course and you can carry enough propane to make a hella big bang

This is where you type a bunch of shit about how awesome your car is. FACT: It's been scientifically proven that the more shit you write in here the less cool your car is. Nine times out of ten the majority of people who talk shit down here don't even have any of the crap they talk about on their car. I drive an 8 year old domestic and barely give two shits about it. I beat the hell out of it and it begs for more, just like your girlfriend. Go ahead, cut me off. I dare ya.
