imagine if when 9/11 happened all the cops were doing blitz's on tuners? they wouldn't do that cause NYPD have better things to do like being NATIONAL HEROES!

i wish i could say the same for police here. we used to look up to them as kids, but now we know better.

one thing i can say is that metro police have not been pulling over anymore which means either they learned the blitz's don't solve anything or that fighting crime is more important. so i'm confident your police will follow suit as well.

hold on officer l have something in my pocket for ya....hold on ... here it is....one more second....ah here you go.... :fuckyou:

This is really getting out of hand, now they're browsing through forums?
Like someone mentioned above, nail the real racers (the ones driving mommy and daddy's Caravan) instead of nailing everyone that seems to be classified as a "street racer".
Ian made a good point a few weeks ago, the "racers" are the ones that drive the sleepers, the cars that aren't heavily modded/riced out.

With the police monitoring such big events such as DKN, it turns people/enthusiasts away from something they enjoy in the world of being an automotive enthusiast, and to me that's pretty pathetic.

I hope that the world of modified cars won't die down because of this..that it will continue to go strong in years time, same like those those who drive their LOUD muscle cars and get away with everything.

Yeah that is the one thing I don't understand. Is how they don't give tickets to the hotrodders running Flowmasters, etc. and we get tickets for perfectly legal mufflers. I don't think that the tuner world will ever die down but this is certainly a good way to keep people away from the hobby and turn the general public to thinking that everybody who owns a car like ours is a street racer. That's not fair especially when we do cheritable stuff for the public and if we didn't have our cars parked in that area they would think we were up to no good. Anyway that is just my opinion.

nick what have u asked them to do?
come to a meet? or to have a meeting somewhere with a couple of them and a coyuple of us?

because i can honestly say, im not at all surprised that theyw ouldn't come out to a meet... can you imagine, all these raging car enthusiats pissed off at the cops all going at him with questions, comments, concerns, bitching... i wouldn't come out either!
but perhaps if its in a mature environment, actually AT the cop station or something... u know

this is why i said i wasn't gunna bring my OPP neighbour out for you guys to ask him questions because he'd be mobbed, the only way you'll get anything serious... (or anything at all) out of them is in a professional manner...

well some good news. I wrote the editor last night who printed that piece off and vented a bit aswell. I just recieved a confirmation, and I think that it might be posted in the next tribune. Either club is totally against street racing, but we're still all criminals, at least anyone who likes to tinker with their vehicles. If someone wants to follow up with some more actions, try as well to get "Officer Green" and his guelph boys out to a meet. Maybe they'll realize we're just following in the footsteps of them, becaue I can pretty well garuntee a lot of those officers modified their machines when they were our ages.

I geve them every option i can think off
Come to a meet, hold a sminar at the cop-shop w/ as many ppl as they want
Have private meetings w/ the admins of the club, have all our cars on a friday night for their inspectin pleasure at their convenient location (off course no tickets will be given only teaching of what is wrong/write will be done)

Lots of other things, but NO DICE on any offer.
I even told them to suggest ANYTHING they would like to do to help us safely modifiy our cars.

Not even an e-mail back

No replies whatsoever but they did take the time out of their busy schedule to drop by a couple of our meets a couple weeks ago and circled around the lot...even followed Ian as he was parking his car..

Someone give them a cookie for their hard-earned effort!!

I got a few replys they read mostly like:

"Officer X in charge of the traffic department is on holidays until (some date 5 years from now) He will contact you when he gets back"

Off course no contact
Send e-mail to officer X dirrectly, no contact

Some other replys
"Thank you for your concern, if your members have their cars legaly modified it shoul dnot be a problem for them"

Fuck if i knew they were legaly modifed, i wouldn't be asking you to come teach us what is legal.

I only got 2 or 3 replayes from about 25-50 e-mails sent out.
I tried phoning as well, got a answering machine, left message, phone called not returned

hmm, I'd go talk to them in person but I'd have to take an old baretta or something or I risk a Rodney King...I just wish I didn't have to cringe and brake out everytime a cop passed me in my car. Anyone else ever get that feeling? like "Is the cop going to do a 360 and pull me over for my flashy paint job?" The cop that pulled me over for my tints was headed the other way when he saw me coming, he did a 360 and flashed me like I ran over his puppy. he let me off with a warning when he saw that my record was clean....off course it's clean...I'm a saint

thats the problem Nick, Most of these police officers don't KNOW what is legal and what isn't. It seems that it's up to there disgression. I don't care what anyone says, they're out there to get our money. They don't give a shit about "keping our streets safe" If you look at the last 10 so called "streetracing" deaths in the area, I bet 9 of the 10 were completely stock vehicle, kids driving daddys mid life crisis GTP or moms V6 mini van.

Sad but true, it's not going to end. No matter what we do.

this thread is stupid
I haven't had any problems with the police in my car, its all legal and i don't race. I don't post negative about the police ever (an I remove all -ve posts towards the police on neoncanada when i see them)...
Just act right, drive right, choose your mods wisely, my car looks like a super wild thing but yet haven't been pulled over. I drive by a lot of police sometimes they are behind me when I am driving, even get a few waves and once asked what kind of car it is and they said cool.

Police read all car club forums, everyone should choose their words wisely.
1. Don't post anything about mods which may be illegal
2. Don't call the police morons and stupid, they are trying to make the roads safer and it is really hard to tell who is a racer or not, modified cars are an easier target because they know that younger people tend to drive them and its also probably true that younger people (aka stupider) are more often involved in street racing. But everytime someone retarded has revved at a light beside me its been a stock car or the kids mom's minivan. (just ignore them)
3. Don't drive like a moron, accelerating and decelerating real quickly may look like street racing just as excessive lane changing.

I don't know thats about all I can think of...
Remember police are just doing their jobs, they are surely reading our forums. Keep VitalMotions image positive by not starting crap threads like this.

I totally agree with what your saying Joe, but also I feel this is a good thread. Take some time and read guelph Racing, http://s2.invisionfree.com/GuelphRac...php?act=SC&c=2 People their are a lot more open about what is said, even though they know that the cops watch the site with a solid eye!!

What it a ll comes down to is whether or not he/she are in the mood to give you a ticket. It's not worth your time arguing. If you argue they will make apoint of showing up at court. I got a ticket for something that i did not do. I went and talk to a Doug Lantz(former officer) at ticket defenders and he got me off no problems. A close family firend is a former staff sgt. in Kitchener and now teaches at the Ontario police Collage and says that what is going on is ridiculous. If you get a ticket, fight it.
