Cops cant pull you over for being to low.

as long as your tire dosnt rub when you turn there is no law that states that you are too low..
This is after asking 2 cops and at the police station.
will post the 1 cops name as a reference tonight...
i have it saved on my buddy's phone...
we got the name of the office just in case for a reference...

not 100% true, you can rub if your tires are too big and you're not raised up enough(think big 4x4's).

I was told that low as you can go is a maximum of distance of 21" from the ground to the centre of your headlights.

Dont know how this works but it seems to.
Bust out the measuring tape!

regardless of your suspension setup (stock, lowered, 4x4)... if you're rubbing, you are too low or get the right wheel/tire combo!

that means if you have a stock ride height but then put on 255/40/19"s and you rub... then you're too low and you need to raise that car... lol

the rule from wat i heard is...

as long as the lowest part of ur car is higher then the lowest part of the rims lip..

so if ur car was slammed with like only 2 inch clearance.. make sure ur not riding steelies with 3 inch tire sidewall height..

just wat i heard.. who knows wat the exact law is anyways..

from the blitz, they told me my car itself wasnt too low, but for the fact that i was rubbin wen my front wheel was fully turned, thats too low. i stuck 8mm spacers in the front for clearance from the caliper. this brought out my front wheels out enough to rub, i never had this problem before without the spacer. so in conclusion, thats the law, as long as your not rubbin any tire on any part of the car.

Being low is not the problem, unless you are scraping the road, by bottoming out all the time. When you are rubbing your are unsafe, it's plain and simple. I dont know what people are complaining about, it's an obvious danger when you are rubbing.

This is directly from a cop... If the tires rub on anything at all, or the car scrapes the ground then they can give a ticket for it being too low.

neonSRT is correct. As long as you dont rub or scrape then you are fine. My brother has the contact to the officer(I will post later) so if you get harrased then you can have a reference.

there is a federal law that says the lowest part of your body (which inclusdes bumpers) has to be higher then the lowest profile of your tires

Its incase you blow a tire you can ride your rim to safe spot to stop with out rubbing you car on the road.

Just like they tried to pass a law banning all aftermarket performance products... Also just like the law to ban NOS, and countless other ones.

I doubt it'll get anywhere with it, because it'll have to apply to all cars and that'll REALLY piss off people that own stock Ferrari's and other exotics that are already really low.
