should I have gotten this ticket?

ok so for w/e reason I sometimes parked all crooked assed on the ...what i thought was my driveway where I am allowed to park.
my car was facing <<<<<that way. BUT was on that driveway..and was not blocking eithe sidewalk or the road...and I got a parking ticket.
saying some bs like "parked on the boulevard"
keep in mind this is a little residential street....

I think that , that piece of land belongs to the city and not to you.

It does belong to the city....BUT...if there is a dip in the curb (to allow a car to get in) and there is no grass (ie. is paved or gravel) then it is your driveway and not the boulevard at all.

I've had to deal with a similar situation about 2 years ago because our 3rd driveway had weeds growing through all the gravel..

In Guelph, thats your property, and you can park there as long as you're not blocking the sidewalk, or part of the road.

We had our driveway redone this past summer, that part we had to pay for, but the curb, and section of road that was old and mangled was covered by the city.

I say go fight it, its only $20, but its the principle of the matter...

Yeah, unfortunately, it is the city...

Looks like the By-law ppl picked on you!

I'd goto the By-law office to see what u can do. You can always fight it or get it dismissed.

ok well all of you are wrong... its perfectly fine to park like that UNLESS someone calls the city and complains. then they will come out and give you a ticket... find out which asshole called and then slash all 4 of their tires. or atleast put superglue in all their doorlocks which is what i did. good luck

Serg, just call the number on the ticket and explain to them what happened...they usually will just tell u to throw the ticket out...they will usually let the first parking ticket u get slide.

Aye, some asshole called about my brother's car that was parked on the street. Our street however, is a couldesac (spelling?! :P ) so the only people that ever drive on it, are those that live here. Which is 6 houses. Some jackass called it in, and my bro got a ticket left on his window in the wee hours of the morning.

Ironically enough it's these same people that invite their entire family over for weekend, and our couldesac turns into a freak'n parking lot, I'm lucky to get out. Hmm, I think I'll be making a phone call next time that happens...

let the air out of thier tires....

that's what we did to the "new neighbours" for calling the cops...

they moved after living on our street for less than a year and left a letter that said thanks for the hospitality

Ask the ticket specialist, Alex. JK :tounge:

But like mentioned above, that part is considered the City's property, Sergei. See what you can do with it by taking it to the City....
