Jedi Car Fan
Item: Rim Refinishing/Powder Coating
Thread:none Seller: Jedi Car Fan Buyer: ME ![]() Met him at his dads shop. Showed my father and I all the difference colour choices. We decided on a colour and he advised us that they will be sand blasted soo a thin layer will be taken off the rim( the previous clearcoat and paint.... basically back to bare aluminum.) soo any corrosion caused by salt will be gone. explained as well how the Powder coating is much better than just spraying the rim as where the paint can chip but the powder actually gets baked at such high temp it will be almost one with the alum....blabla...anyways. here are some pics to direct your attention to. My father went to pick them up. and was not pleased with the result. if the rims were sandblasted... i dont think the rubber on the inside would stay there. or that the corrosion from the salt would still be there. but hey thats just me I guess. he tried to tell my father that the rubber is somehow stuck to the rim. then if it was baked at high temp maybe the rubber would burn away? haha i guess not. as well he tried to tell my dad that the Weights will go in the same exact places that they have been pulled from. .. WOW. anyways I dont have time to write more.. look at pics and see for yourself! btw. I have pmed him and said that I just want them done properly and I dont want to post anything he basically said to do what i think i need to do. *******actuall message I've sent him******** and response ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------ 96 Tegra Sergei |

I don't know why you're complaining about the inside lip fo the rim. You wont see that.
As for those rough patches, definitly not cool. Will not go to this place. Thanks for the heads up. |

I think you guys might all be missing something here... Sandblasting won't fix curb rash or other blemishes in the actual aluminum, it simply strips the previous coatings off. If there was rough spots in the aluminum, you'd have to have that fixed somewhere that fixes rims, not just stripping a coating and powdercoating them.
Its like expecting a paintjob over rust to look good. ------------------ Roses are #FF0000 Violets are #0000FF All my base are belong to you. |

ya, the aluminum appears to be pitted where the weights were, i don't know what they could do about that besides actually having the rim repaired

well. I was not aware that they will still have those scuff marks from the salt eating away at them.
I was under the impression that they will be fixed. that is why we brought them to him in the first place. and he did not inform us that they will stay like that.......... anyways if you guys think this is the kind of work you like to see. then by all means. get your rims done by him. myself I was not satisfied. I think he shoudl have informed us that basically they will just be painted..and same shit will be on them........ ------------------ 96 Tegra Sergei |

^^ I can't argue with that.. Being given the impression that they'll be mint afterwards isn't fair unless the end result meets the expectations.

Sergei: Jeff is a good buddy of mine and told me all about you and your bullshit. Just send the MPV to the wreckers and be done with it.
Jeff told me he has done more than 100 wheels, and of them YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS, had rubber (of ANY kind) on them. Didn't Jeff tell you he could remove the rubber by scrapping it off ($60/hour) and you declined. You can try to bad mouth him but the fact of the matter is that his powdercaoting is NOT flawed, and I have seen many perfect results. You will soon see some of his best (2 stage) work on 240sxy's car, Judge for yourself, and not from the mouth of a bitter person, with ulterior motives. Tell the whole story, dick. Jeff will be home soon to reply. ------------------ SR20DET Tuned by BLITZ Yeah thats right, BLITZ MA-F@CK@ I didn't get the nicky HARDCORE for nothing |

As I stated to your father in person...
The rim was sand blasted and all problem areas where fixed. The rims had Rubber caked inside the inner lip "which will not be removed with Sand" Steel Shot yes... but that cannot be used on an Alum rim. He then tells me that sand paper should have just removed it every so simply "meaning if he had a clue what he was talking about, would then realize the Sand Blasting would have removed it" He then Changes his story saying he didnt bring me the rims to have the Alum Oxidization but so that I could remove the rubber from the Inner Lip "which was NEVER stated!" He then speaks with the Owner looked into the owners eyes and said "there is no problem" paid us then he left. The following night I get a messaging threating me "from you" that if I do not do what you say that you will then go out for your way to ruin my rep as you called it... and as I said... do whatever you feel is necessary to comfort your father on this situation as it has already been explained to him by both myself and the Owner of the Company. ------------------ S13 | This | That | And more ----------------------------- Powder Coating - Ask me http://www.centurypowder.co.nr |

first fuck you for telling anything about wrecking the mpv. 2nd. Jeff told me that they will be baked at some high ass temp. wich would melt the rubber. NO we didnt bring them to remove the fucking rubber. thats fucking dumb. he dindt say shit bout $60/hour? we didnt bring the rims there to take the rubber off. that would be covered anyways. and i'm sure you have seen many perfect results.... good for fucking you!. take a fucking cookie. and obviously he gonna go out of his way to do her rims..since this shit is up here now. AND i HIGHLY doubt 240sexy drives her rims in the fucking winter. sooo assuming she does not have any oxidation from salt.....she should be fine. and i dindt come here to start shit (s13GG) so why dont you take a fucking seat and stop defeding him so much. you dont know what the fuck was said or who the fuck said what... SHUT THE FUCK UP. all i started in this fucking thread was a fucking explanation of what happened at this transaction and how it went down... as to why this part of the forum is here. dont go fucking talking shit. now all i'm saying is jeff should have said hey guys.... the service I do here will not bring your rims back to mint shape...all i'm doing is painting them.(powdercoating)..... then we could have said cool. thanks but no thanks.... but he still went ahead.... now I dont remember how shit was said word to word...as i was not even there when the rims were picked up. but then again jeff thought he'd tell my dad that the weights of the rims will go in exact same place... ? really though will they? yeah.... sure.. ok Go ahead and lock this bitch up!. i'm done here. fucking retards ------------------ 96 Tegra Sergei |

even on my rims I didnt expect the curb rashes to disappear... only for the finish to evenly coat it and blend it... you can clearly see it in the bottom of this pic... sandblasting wont fix that...
